TP Offense : Failure to form up correctly when turning right

Nowadays TP also catch us bikers not forming up when turning right???!?!

All i did was to come in from lane 2 like every self-respecting bikers wor!!!

4 points and $130 fine. If it’s your first offense they might give you chance. Kena once before and I learnt my lesson

lol.. which biker seriously follows this forming up rule. isn't the biker creed: 'got space, don't waste'? this creed helps reduce the wait time at traffic lights. if every bike formed up properly to turn right, every junction will be jammed. whoever reported your 'offense', tp or not, is ... ... karma works in mysterious ways. one day, he will be fined for this exact same move

 

try appealing, if it fails, pay the fine & continue the usual right turn forming up, 'biker style'

 

if you look, tp cars / bikes have greatly reduced in numbers. but they make up for it with tech. cams are now mounted on their vehicles. be observant of your 360 surroundings, using mirrors. tp bikes can appear behind you, capture your alleged offense on cam & next comes the summon letter. a sense of neighbouring car speeds; unusually slow with clear traffic/ unusual brake light tapping from cars in front/ all-clear right lane while other lanes are packed (super unusual in sg, where everyone loves the fast lane), are all clues to increase awareness

I kena twice at the same spot 2weeks apart....first time they let me go with warning. Then came second letter which I thought game over but surprisingly they also pang chance.

I sometimes see those LTA guys with camera pointing at junctions. Possibly they caught you?

Yes from what we understand, this probably means you skipped the queue and cut in from the left.

appeal.. usually nice TP officer will waive the fine with a warning... they understand too that bikers dont really queue at turning junction.. in future just do it politely and thank the car for cutting in and dont make it too obvious.. if the car is too far into the turning pocket, then just wait 1 or 2 cars behind..

Hi Xmaxer, thank you for your advice. Did you mean I had this fine all because the vehicle behind me lodge the complaint that I didn’t queue?

I see, this troublemaker really go an extra mile to make us pay fine. Are you saying all they got to do is email the photo they got from their car’s camera and email to Traffic-police? If you have the email address, can I have please?

Why on earth there is such evil-hearted men? Bikes are so small that doesn’t block their path. We are always under sun & rain, can’t these people have some compassion to let us pass first?

In fact we are the ones that are always being bullied by them,

1.      Anyhow cut into our lane without proper signalling or sufficient distancing

2.      without confirming we are not beside their vehicle (checking at blind-spot), they would just cut in immediately upon signalling

3.      Sometimes they would cut in even when we are just beside them and we got to jam our brake.

4.      If it is raining, it is so dangerous for us as we may skid and fall when we jam our brake.

Please don't say that .
As rider, we can point out rule driving style, in return as driver, they can also point out our rule riding style too.
The reason you got the fine can be from anyone and not exactly from the vehicle behind you in the same lane.
Avoid cutting in from right, especially with RED right arrow.  Reason due;
1) Rider may be moving and brake to STOP for turn right (RED arrow), causing slow down or e Brake to the moving lane behind on GREEN. 
2) Rider cut Q into the right turn lane (Red Arrow), and bike rear obstructed the left lane traffic movement (half the bike in Right turn lane and half in Straight moving lane) 
3) The final incident could be a two lane, Left Lane goes left or straight and the Right Lane turn right only. Rider used the right turn lane to filter through traffic and zoom into the left lane (if riding on par with a vehicle over the traffic box into 1 lane, anyone will be piss off, what if it a 4 wheel or move come close to you on the right) 

Dont compare yourself with other worst than you.  Instate, learn from them as a reminder how you can do better and not same as them.

After riding for some 6 years, and passing my class 3 some time ago, I managed to get some considerable hours on the road as a driver doing parcel delivery as a side job. That's when I realized, it's actually not that hard to let motorcyclists pass or accommodate them when lane splitting .etc. In other words, I realized that drivers are even more of a prick for doing shit like cutting you off or signaling and turning immediately, and being accommodating to motorcyclists such as letting move ahead is not as troublesome or inconvenient as I thought (before I got the class 3). I also realized that most drivers on Singapore's roads really no good lane discipline and courtesy/compassion.

only when you owned both of the license, you will understand.

But if you are just a driver, you will somehow dislike riders as how most people categorise drivers as "taxi" like this one, "ladies-drivers" also like that one. P plate bo bian, confirm mistake one..

It's takes a level of understanding to know that there is nothing much to loss to show kindness on the road. But still there are minority and simply can't change their mentality.
So do take care of yourself and keep a look out for smaller road user. Cheers

bro @JJBuBBle is right... i drive and i also ride... when i ride... all bikers are gracious and friendly.. but once when i get into a car, due to enclose metal box, u always feel like u r "higher" than bikers.. dont give face.. we are all guilty of this from time to time.. but luckily i ride so i always understand how bikers feel

@Mingqian_ From past posts here in SBF, there have been quite a few that appeal and managed to get their fines waived. The TP officer on duty understands that most if not all bikers will do that at some point and if it's not done 'too dangerously', they usually quite understanding and will give chance.

However, from a couple of years back, all appeals now have to be done ONLINE, so you are not able to 'plead' with the officer in person to 'give chance' as it is not a face to face appeal but online.

Please put in your appeal and let us know how it goes so this post can be informative and help other bikers.
