Hi all

the light on my speedometer and rpm meter suddenly die off when i am riding, now, my "neutral light" not working and the fuel meter is always at empty, and there is no light on my speedo and rpm meter. i've checked the connector to from the fuel tank on the right hand side, it is properly connected. Any of you faced this problem before?

Check the 10 amps fuses. The fuses are located in a blackplastic fuse case behind and under your seat at the left hand back panel. Read the instruction under the fuse case cover when u open up to see which fuse is for what.

Most of the prob is rectifier or coil. Btw ur spec 3 how old ?

Maybe can try jam start from there can see the voltage of the batt.

Try and do a "push start" (shift to second gear..clutch in and run or walk the bike as fast as you can and left off clutch till biting point andthrottle a bit..but remember to instanteously shut throttle when engine starts). If u do not have confidence..sit on bike and row down hill or get ur nice enighbour ppl to help push). If u still can't..take off ur battery and bring it to a mototiam to charge it ($1-$2) for an 1/2 to an hour or so.

Fix it back..bike should start..immediately ride it to the nearest bike shop and have your charging voltage check..should read around 13.5-14.2 volts DC. If not..could be rectifier (first) or magneto coil or both. In this case..ur battery is ok then. If ur charging voltage is ok as specified..the battery is out. of comission. Make sure ur new battery is a YTX 10s atleast for a spec 3. Need help..pm me.

went to planet for "sometimes my bike cannot start prob" ~ they also dunno why as i have changed coil rectifier and batt ~

and there's another new prob as my headlight will not be on when i turn the ignition switch , it will only be on after i switch on my high beam on and off ~

planet boss told me to put some WD40 on the starter switch will do , but later in the night the prob comes back , so i dont think its the starter switch prob ?

I believe there is a fuse to the speedo meter.... go get a mech to check the whole speedo meter...but do find a trusted mech...later they scam u buy a new one

Check the 10 amps fuses. The fuses are located in a blackplastic fuse case behind and under your seat at the left hand back panel. Read the instruction under the fuse case cover when u open up to see which fuse is for what.

Hi jokerfar and Ah Pek, I just realized today that my signal lights (both front and back) are out too... is this still related to the fuse you guys are talking about?

Yah..there is one 10 amp fuse as I said at is for the meter and all including ur signal light. If memory serve me well..its the secon one next to the one for starter ignition...look at the label instruction.

Sorry guys, need to ask something.

i've recently replaced my coil, rectifier, and batt. when my signal lights are on, my headlight sort of flickers with the signal light as well. is this normal? or should i have some sort of grounding done?

thanks

anyway @Ah Pek, i went over to ah fook to get this checked the other day, he mentioned that this problem could be solved by grounding the bike more. which i believe the rectifier needs to be grounded as well also. he asked me to look for you for grounding.

can you pm me how much will you charge for it?

thanks ah pek

When touring, its usually the rider that give way first before the bike itself.

got box got tour.

I'm not sure if grounding would help but what I can see ur problem on the headlight fricking with ur signal is caused by electrical loading on the same supply line. My grounding may or may not help but mine is intensively done for spark plug performance. Sms me if u need help at 90670020.

hey guys, anyone knows why my rear brake disk is hot, abit like burning hot. put egg sure cook i think. doesnt look red though.

If ur saying ur whole journey u never apply rear brake yet very hot means ur brake pad is eating the disk at all times... It's time to service your brake and change pad

per caliper roughly abt $70 inclusive of bleeding. if need to change caliper piston, prepare to pay more. abt $25 per piston x 4 piston per caliper (depends on how many need to b replaced).
