LOL! Being the kanchiong spider that i am, i really can't help it. Big thanks to Rick and Finn for imparting so much of your know hows. It was a pleasure meeting you guys and i can't wait for the mass meetup this coming sat.

btw, while washing my bike earlier.. i took off a chunk of flesh from my right toe while pushing my bike with its side stand down. I swear i'll never wear flip flops again while riding or washing. :weep:

i would like write a small review on this Shift StreetFighter Glove i've been using.

Bought it off Profile Asia near Kelantan Lane for 85 bucks.

http://img14.imgspot.com/u/05/208/07/DSC00072.JPG

the above is an aerial shot of the glove. It's full leather and the knuckle area is protected by some metallic looking protector.

the glove seems to in need of some wearing in before it feels comfy. the feel for the throttle is greatly compromised in the first few initial wear .

Those switching from textile type of glove will find the feel of the throttle is greatly diminished.

http://img14.imgspot.com/u/05/208/07/DSC00073.JPG

the above is a close up on the metallic protector on the knuckle side. not only the knuckle is protected, the finger section is also padded for extra protection

http://img14.imgspot.com/u/05/208/07/DSC00074.JPG

the above picture shows the palm side which near the outer wrist area protected by another piece of metallic protector. initial wear seems to be quite funny with something there between ur palm and throttle. but then after a few wear, the feel seems to go away.

another thing is that the first few wear, u'll find that there's tiny fur bits on ur hand area after u remove the glove.

other then dat, it's seems to get better after every wear.

good review on gloves :thumb: a pretty good buy for such comprehensive protection. are there any protection for the pinkie finger? what kind of leather is the glove made of?

ladies and gentlemen, this is a bit of input regarding gloves based on my research. feel free to correct if there's a mistake.

these are the few things to consider when getting gloves.

1. What kind of leather is it made of, cowhide or some kangeroo or whatever leather. it is better to be cowhide. tougher.

2. protection. gloves usually protect your knuckles, palm and most importantly, your pinkie. these are the more prone areas when you skid and have an impact on your hand. that's why when you look at alpinestars gloves, they provide pretty comprehensive protection for the pinkie and the sewed the pinkie portion together with your ring finger portion.

3. padding. make sure the padding is adequent to protect your palm and also allow you to have a good throttle feel. please try the glove on and go to your bike and try on your bike. if the shop owner don't allow that. don't buy. especially if you're going to throw in about $200 for a pair of gloves to be used on the track. because it can feel quite different when you use it on the bike.

4. fitting. if getting leather gloves, get one that fits rather tightly as leather will expand.

5. grip. you might want to consider whether are there extra grip on the finger tips for your levers.

6. please do not get those half fingers. it only protects mainly your palm and kunckles.

7. remember that leathers are not waterproof so maybe you need to carry another pair of gloves, maybe a textile one if you're going to ride in the rain.
