you sure it's way better? fat bar and tiny sliders are way better?!

 

just fyi, the clamps comes from stock RMZ450. there isn't much RMZ450 riders in singapore though, but on a US forum, riders who were riding RMZ450 changed the bars and the clamps almost immediately after they bought the bike. it is well known to break upon impact. That is for the case of the Clamps. the bar is a normal Renthal fatbar. people changed it because they prefer a specific bend.

 

one more thing, the K7 comes with 300mm front disc. that is 10mm smaller than the k5 and k6. i'm puzzled why this was done though but u can ask any supermotard riders or any other riders, a bigger disc is usually better.

Oh really?? sheesh, to think i was really mislead by hear-say. Cus actually i'm now contemplatin on either getting a secondhand K5/K6 or a new K7...........

 

I'm actually hopin to get a reduce priced k5/K6 with the introduction of K7. haha

DRZ400SM K7 Features

So is this the reason why DRZ400SM is so much cheaper from other brand, such as KTM and Yamaha? Cos like what u mention they use RMZ clamps which break upon impact?

Considering that a Yamaha 06 WR250 and the KTM 07 250EXC-F is price ard 16 k, and they only come in dirt bike tyre specs.

 

While from what i look at the engine, not much difference from the DRZ400S which first came out in Year 2000 or 2001. Its just a new package which is in the current motard form. But the Swing arm, real shock, front usd fork is much more better then the early days DRZ.

Asked for their DRZ 400 sm. Costs abt 12.8 k OTR.

 

Loois Motor quoted around that price as well.

FC for me is ard 190 for 8 litres which just hit the reserve.

i own a blue/white k7 drz...

 

for me, the best FC i have obtained with it is 222 km... then i hit reserve. i personally do not like the stock renthal handlebar as it is to narrow and the sweep of the bar is too much for me.

 

will change to a pro taper bar soon... but gotta find out which width,bend,sweep is most suitable for my riding position and style...

 

btw of course la k7 has the yellow, black and new one blue/white.

 

i dun see how the sliders on the bike are useful... haha...

 

i tried looking just by the naked eye, even if the footpegs and gear/brake 'footlevers' are folded in, they still seem to be jutting out more than the slider...

try crashing your bike and u'll know whether it works or not! the sliders are supposed to protect your axles first, not the whole side of the bike.

 

the bag beind are essential tools for simple maintenance of the bike.

my bad!!! i have always tot that the purpose of the sliders are to protect as much of the bike scratch-wise in the event of a crash...

 

but when u say about it protecting te axles, tt makes sense ya...

it's not free in the sense u still need to pay for oil and oil filter. so u can just dump those away and go to your favourite shop.

Axles? Tot fork legs more impt?

 

Usually with axle sliders and handguards, even the shrouds are kinda spared from any damage. Juz ask the many who experienced this b4 hehe.

front fender in blue. Condition 10/10. Took it out the first week i got the bike. $30

 

Tail in white. Condition 8/10, Has a slight blurry buff at the place where the 'tyre pressure' info sticker used to be. other than that no scratches or cracks. $40

 

Side Panels in white. Condition 8/10. Has a little scratches at the edge of the plastic on the left side. No scratches or cracks otherwise. $30

 

i do not have any pics up because my digicam is spoilt. so for any enquiries pls do pm me.

Hmmm its a lil bit weird for you to be posting here regarding that. No offence though but you might wanna try looking around the forum lar. Theres quite a number of repost on the same old topics.

Hmmm i think SMs are generally more ex den normal thumpers but not really sure, i myself is a newbie in the scrambler rides.

 

Not many 2b motards around though but for KTMs you might wanna drop by Ideal or Dirtwheel. For WR i havent seen a single motard around at all haha.
