Thats the basics of mod, playing with spockets is best n cheapest form of mods.. Decreasing 1 tooth from front is almost like increasing 2.5 teeth at the rear..normally increasing bigger spockets at the rear is preferred due to lesser work. Having smaller front or bigger rear will def increae in acceleration but a sacrifice in top end speed..it's great for traffic lights shoot out but not great for FC..

On the track, it van be deceiving, because of the quick response in acceleration, it gives us the sense of swiftness but u might find u actually going slower when u record yr lap times.. u will find yer revs climb to redline too quickly..Too many gear changes leads to time wasting, gearing for every race circuit needs to be tried out to see which ratio is ideal.. PG favours higher ratio gearing but it will never work for Sepang which has fast high speed sweeping bends..I have yet to sort out my gear ratio for PG on my RS.. Am playing with spockets now to get my gearing right...I having a 16/40 but it still not right, need to blip the clutch almost every corner especially those uphill ones..

My 2cts worth on spockets for street n track riding

cheers y'all

Just like to share. For older model RS, those who had raced with RS in PG, Front normally run at 20 or 21 and Rear at 38~42(415 & 428 size). This will prevent T1, T3, T5 & T10 from over rev for those use 2nd gear. Newer model using slight different gear ratio internally, but should be still applicable. Pls take note that those RS is alot lighter with greater power, they have higher carry speed.

Very interesting, and very true.

Personally, i've used quite afew different sprocket settings, even used a 428 chain! Used renthal sprockets till my chain snapped too! Haha. But i find the best is the stock setting of 17/40. It's just nice for PG. Doesnt rev too fast or too slow. Larry, maybe you need to get your tuning sorted out so your bike is more smoother. :)

Those getting powervalves and cables from PJME, please note that they are not genuine parts, even though the photos look like they are.

I have spoken to Angela and Luke of PJME personally about this issue. They have confirmed that they are not genuine.

Just FYI. Make sure you go into a deal with your eyes wide open. If you need confirmation, please call PJME directly.

If you need valves I've got aftermarket valves from Germany that is replicated with the same materials as our original Rotax. I am currently testing it before I sell it to ensure it is as strong as the original.

The previous valve I sold received a lot of complaints that it was too soft and malleable, even though I didnt have problems with them myself, using 2 on both my bikes.

The new valves are off the bat much stronger and tougher to scratch, even with a screwdriver. They weigh the same as the original ones too.

I didnt have any issues with the previous valves. I know 1 or 2 guys broke it, but it's probably due to their cables or the condition of their block that broke the valves, not the valves itself.

Is this the valves you're talking about?? Looks nice and good.. Shinnnnyyyyy...

All you guys better be careful if you're buying from bikeshops in SG. These valves are damn cheap, $50 or less but some shops sell them for 200plus just to rip us off. Especially 1 shop that tried to pass off the CNC valve as a Polini valve. What rubbish. Hmph.

But the best is the stock valve. You can get them from http://www.ultimateparts.net. 51 pounds... Worth it..

Is it? I'll let me girlfriend know. Haha... Her RS is a much sweeter ride than mine.

Yup. Those are the valves that are also sold by PJME and Ultimate Parts. Just FYI, the valves I ordered from Ultimate Parts are also the aluminum CNC-machined valves, not the original Rotax.

I've ordered parts from Ultimate Parts a few times before, it's always been smooth and hassle-free. But lately they seem to be stocking less and less parts for our bikes.

The last time I visited their shop near Manchester they mentioned that they had problems with keeping stock and getting parts from Italy, so they may have decided to focus more on other Aprilia models?

They've also shifted so I won't be able to pay them a visit the next time I'm in UK. A bit too out of the way now...

Believe nothing you hear; and only half of what you see.

Do or do not; there is no 'try'.

Hmm maybe it's me that's not smooth.. :D .. I based more on the front straight n the long back straights toward T2 where the revs climbs oh so slowly to 11500. Maybe I might be too impatient as the rapid acceleration of my Triumph climbs to 14000 in a blink of an eye.. I'm not too sure..

As in one of the earlier post by a bro riding the older RS . He gave us a tip on spocket size. 20-21 frnt n 38/41 rear ( thanks for sharing) but I wonder is it possible to put a 21T front? N I agree on high rolling corner speed but seldom used 2nd except in 1 left corner n of course if I start to drift out in any bends, i"ll downshift just to hold my line.

I did a vdo on my test run in PG , vdo focus more on my revs n Bullmoo view it.. I'm bliping my clutch almost every chance I get to keep rev in happyzone :D

nonetheless there be another practise test in late feb before SMSA raceday.. Hope I get it sorted out

Hey frost, Juz wanna Noe when u say ur engine is giving out a loud noise, is it only on higher gear like 5th and 6th? As my engine gives out a loud roaring sound when I kick up to the 5th and 6th gear.

Is it normal?

I wouldn't know about that, it's normal if it's the other way around dropping from a higher gear haha!

BROS ORDERING FROM PJME THIS IS THE FINAL LIST. PLEASE CHECK THROUGH ONE LAST TIME BEFORE PAYING.

The list is final and i will not accept anymore changes to the orders UNLESS i made a mistake in your order. The simple reason because if you were to try and look at PJMEs website, it reali is a BI**H to order from it. All the stuff have to be added to cart one by one. And its reali a pain to look for the items coz they dun have direct links to the items. So i hope you guys understand that i put in ALOT of effort in this. A change in order is a simple pm/sms to you, but i have to go through alot of trouble to make that 1 small amendment. So i seek your understanding.

Any changes in orders will result in immediate exclusion from this MO, meaning i will cancel all your orders. And if your order cancellation results in us not being able to hit the 1000gbp mark, the MO will be aborted and i will refund all those who paid me already. Coz i reali cannot got thru another sleepless night changing and looking thru/cross referencing the orders. Again this does not apply IF I MADE A MISTAKE IN YOUR ORDER.

As of this moment no more orders will be taken with the exception of those who have personally sms-ed me.

Thanks for your understanding and lets all hope this MO is a success. :D
