Eh, dont mind me being rude, why the hell you want to get 2ndhand tyres? On top of that for track use? Do you even value your bike? Tyres are the most important things that keeps you from kissing the tarmac. And here you are wanting to be cheap.

Why dont you invest in a new set of tyres for your bike if you're intending to go track? My recommendation, if you cant afford it, sell your bike and dont waste your time.

Ha, i get your point, it is all about money versus need, to me , 2nd hand tire in good condition is something that can be used without compromising the safety and performance, tires with 1/4 ware doesn't differ from tire with 1/3 ware too much,. unless i am wrong. Unlike some other 2nd hand parts like 2T pump or speed meter, as long as it is used, a higher probability of failure is there as the condition is not easily identifed..it is a closed system, you can't tell whether it is in mint condition or not from just looking....To get a set of tires with 2000KM mileage but half of the price.. i think it is a good deal...... What do you think?

I think you shouldn't question the boss's advice! In addition, my 2cent is that you should definitely spend the extra money for the most essential stuff which could save your life.

You are running too rich. Bring to the 2 famous mechanic and request for a retune. Tell them yr prob and they shld understand.

Do you have the full list by any chance? :D I'm interested to know

The following list is compiled from the same experiment conducted by Chris and myself a few years ago. The settling period was 2 weeks (14 days) after initial rigorous agitation.

2T that separates:

- Castrol Racing A747

- Maxima Castor 927 Racing

- Maxima SuperM Premix Racing 2T

2T with negligible separation:

- Mobile 1 Racing

- Maxima SuperM Injector Racing

2T with no discernable separation:

- Unil-Opal

- Silkolene Comp 2 Plus

- Bel-Ray Si-7

brought to the famous mech and was asked to rev higher. Riding at 5 to 6k rpm

During running in period, keep your revs under 8,000rpm. Which means you can rev to 7,900 rpm. Do not rev above 6,000rpm on a cold engine.

I usually ride between 7,000-8,000rpm during running in period. After running in, usually between 9,000-12,000rpm.

Believe nothing you hear; and only half of what you see.

Do or do not; there is no 'try'.

Does anyone want to buy my bike for $16,000 as is, or $5,000 in stock trim?

COE ends 2021

I need some moolah to buy my dream bicycle - Either TIME, or the cheaper Eddy Merckx, or another Pinarello.

PM me.

Could using the choke be the reason why my plug fouls so fast? I used the choke on a few occasions in the morning when my bike starts but die if no throttle is applied.

1) Bike running rich on fuel - mainjet could be the probable cause. It was for me.

2) Fuel/Air setting

A quick DIY or routine service of carb (tell d mech ur prob) should get it solved.

Nope.

I use the choke when my bike is cold because the idling is very lean and the revs will climb quite high, so I use the choke to bring the revs down by richening the idling mixture.

If you use the choke just for start-ups, it's ok.

If you keep the choke open while riding, that's just stupid.

I assume you're asking about the choke because you ride within 7,000-8,000rpm so you're looking for another probable cause for the plug fouling?

I think you should just get a new set of tyres. Never compromise your safety. You never know what the 2ndhand tyres you're buying have been through. And for track regulars, they'd be stupid fools to sell off their tyres only after using once or twice. I'm pretty sure they'll use it till the ends are worn off before selling it for ROAD USE only. If you use those tyres for track, you'll end up where you are now. In posession of a crashed bike. Just my 2 cents. :)

Greetings guys,

I'm from Indonesia and looking forward to get some fast moving items for my RS125 (2009) next month in Singapore. Any recommended shops in the country, since parts for Aprilia is not easy to get in Indonesia.

Cheers.

Yo dude, theres many shops here where u can get RS parts... n its not new having our south east asian neighbours coming over here to purchase parts...unfortunately there are certain ignorant locals here who knows nothing abt the tax systems and assume like they know it all.

there are couple of Indonesians who comes here every forthnight to get items here... u might want to link up with them...

we are in talks with SIC n a Singapore private trackday for small sportsbike (below 200cc n below 400cc) in Sepang is planned for Sept.. it be for 2 days ...friday and saturday...

those interested PM me for more details...

note* full leather suit is compulsory n yr bike have to abide to race scrutineering regulations.

also just in case anyone wanna try n see whats its like to be on a screaming superbike at full steam , u can rent a New 2011 ZX6-R for the private trackday.. its not gonna be cheap ,reasonable but not cheap...

so Raj, I bet u be keen on this.

Aprilia RS4,yup its coming really really soon ,compared to the other 4 stroke 125,she have the slight edge in responsiveness to get to speed... not a bad ride really except for the asthmatic sounding stock exhaust..

the current aftermarket performance u can dive into at the moment is a 180cc BBK,

cheers

If u tink u hav yor budget, juz go wif it. Diz track riders r no fools as wat Mr. Subzero claims dey r fool enuf to sell after 2 or 3 times used on track. I got few Aprilia riders used back USED tyres on their bikes n dey r still safe n sound n ALIVE till today. Wat i'm trying to say down here is vry simple, check on de condition of de 2nd hand tyres 1st. If u fyl safe n comfortable to get, den buy it but if u haf doubts in den don buy it. I dont tink dat de seller wil whack n kill u if u don buy their tyres. In fact diz ppl r helpful enuf to help u purchase wif cheaper n yet still reusable for yor bike...
