It's easy to handle.... on wide roads like NSH, or maybe bigger track like Sepang.

But on smaller tracks like PG... a 600 is much easier to ride there. Even a 250 might be able to eat an R1 in the corners... don't be surprised. It all depends on the rider. But smaller bikes are easier to handle, and as such... there'll be a greater number of fast riders on smaller cc bikes.

hmmm..... englightening

R1 has been one of my fav cl2 bike, after duke... but guess i stil ve a pretty long way man...haiz...

Does anyone have any idea where I can find the standard looking end can from the new model Aprilias? I want to fit one to my arrow system instead of the carbon fiber one for riding in Singapore (and TO PG) so that I can simply change over the end can when I get to PG and have less risk of getting fined by TP.

Standard size on all models except Extrema is 28mm. Larger carb means it can be adjusted for higher volume air/fuel mixture, therefore more power.

Axxis, I think its a good idea you try out a bad 2T first, then try out mine... I think the difference will help you decide which one is better and stick with it for life... hur hur hur....

:cheeky:

But if you're serious about taking care of your Italian baby, dont get 2T from LAB.

Come on lah people. I'm breaking my balls here supplying you guys with the best stuff on the planet at the lowest cost possible, only because I believe we all deserve them.

The Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price for Unil-Opal 2T Titanium is S$27.

I'm selling them to you at cost price but there are rich people who would rather pay peanuts for monkeys and spend more money on repairs, servicing and maintainence. Maybe its to show off that they have more moolah to burn? Why rich people do that, I will never understand.

I'm doing this as an enthusiast, for all enthusiasts out there.

Unil-Opal oils are of the same if not better quality compared to other brands of similar grades, but at a lower price.

If I wanted to make a quick buck I'd be selling Unil-Opal 2T at the same price you can get Motul, Fuchs, Mobil, Esso, Castol and whatever else, and capitalise on the perceived value of the product.

Basically, people buy expensive products because they think that being so expensive, its gotta be good. The wholesale price for other expensive brands out there are no more than $16-18. The rest are for covering overheads, shop space rental, shipping, etc... which I absorb.

I'm just wondering, maybe if Unil-Opal 2T costs $45, more people might actually believe that they're worthy of inergalactic space travel, I might actually get more sales....

Galen, Ben, Chris, and other Unil-Opal users- what do you think....? Perceived value better? or real value better?

Because I'd rather be making a lot of money, than make nothing at all. I only do this because I know I'd love to have good quality stuff without making the evil corporations richer by paying for their profits and such.

And I agree with Lacri.

The RS125 is especially sensitive to 2T. Use a bad one, and you'll have valve jams very very often. Use a good one, and it'll take abt a month plus b4 your valve starts to get sticky.

This is from my experience as a Replica rider a few years back.

When I used Castrol 2T from LAB, my valve gummed up within a week. When I used mineral or semi-synth, it gums up again. When I used Motul 800 fully synth, it stayed clean... but boy was it expensive.

Bottomline is... sometimes if you cut costs somewhere, it will usually add up elsewhere.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v161/DeusXMachina/Lean2a.jpg
Posted

How is the valve gonna handle it if I only ride the bike twice a month. Is it more or less likely to gum up.

Lac> ok I want to get some of this stuff.. price and pickup location required. :)

As for the end can the bike will mainly only be ridden to the Johor for track session and back on either Sat or Sun mornings so fingers crossed I can avoid TP.

I am keen as well. Probably will get 3 bottles for a start. How do I pick it up from you?

What's the recommended mixture ratio? 20ml to 1 litre of petrol?

Axxis,

Do you live nea Serangoon/Potong Pasir area? If you do, you can drop by my place to pick up the 2T and I'll teach you how to clean your valve too. Am working from home today.

If you want 4 bottles and above, I can deliver the 2T to you tonight, and we can do a valve cleaning at your home. Just need some petrol, WD-40, and steel wool/JIF green scrub.

Rudy,

When using Unil-Opal, my valve stayed clean for 3 months of no cleaning. And even after which, it took 5 min to scrub off the black muck from the valve to return it to its original shiny state. Ask those guys who were there for DIY 4....

I would have left my valve alone for even longer if not for wanting to prove to those guys who showed up for DIY how good the oil is...

That's why I've sworn by Unil-Opal. I was a huge skeptic at the beginning, but after I tried the oil myself, I'm never changing back. The only other 2T which I find works as well is Mobil Racing, and its gold in colour. Costs ard $20+.

Roadster,

Unfortunately, I dont premix, so I dont know the premix ratio of 2T to petrol. :p

Those interested to pick up 2T, 4T (5W50, 10W40, 10W50), gear oil, coolant, chain lube, fork oil, etc... can pick them up from my place in the meantime. Just call to check if I'm home first.

Axxis - ya running a Yr 2000 RS 125?? is ya stock exhaust MK aka Milo Kong?

if it is, the standard size would be 28mm.. go take a look at ya carb.. if ya see PHBH28, then that's a 28mm, if it's a VHSB34, then it's a 34mm carb.

generally a bigger carb improves the power of the bike in overall performance..

the rpm simply rises faster and it adds 10-20km to your top..

as for the pipe.. it derestrict the the rpm from going above.. a certain rpm (forgot how much was it).. you'll realise that there's a difference in the surge when the valves open when using a operated MK or aello..

fuel consumption is very subject, it depends on ya setting.. i'm running a 148 main jet (a bit lean, tune for low and mid eng) and i'm getting 21km/L.. and a full tank can last me almost 280km..

at the same time, i'm using a shark exhaust (aello similar)

i would consider the consumption is very good..

if ya want a better top, you can set to a bigger jet.. but would definitely increase the consumption..

i'm selling it for 150$.. it's comes with the rubber manifold to connect to ya reed cage.. it's not difficult to fit in.. just two clips to tighten it.. ya just have to bring to mech for tuning and that's all.. and if ya using a aello or new standard arpeeela end can.. shouldn't be a problem with the setting..

Hey guys since chris brought up the topic of clutchless upshifts...do any of youi guys do this often? My friends tell me it will screw up my gearbox but the the UKRS guys seems to be doing it all the time with no problems at all

Also i keep finding false neutrals when upshifting and when i downshift i can sometimes feel like the gears are grinding...is this normal?

berukblue,

I do clutchless shifting all the time... hahaha

Your friends ride Aprilia too? Or they riding SP? If they dont ride Aprilia, dont listen to them, coz you'll learn as much as listening to me teach quantum-physics.

You just need to have good gear oil. Try Unil-Opal's. You'll feel the difference. The oil can last longer before breaking down.

Think you gotta ask muser about how the gear oil feels...

In the past I used Silkolene light gear oil from Ideal. Very smooth for the first 2 weeks. After that, the gear oil breaks down and I cant even find neutral. Got plenty of false neutral between every gear though... :giddy:

a larger carb normally increases top end power, but there is a limit lar, so far 34 works good for most, and the largest i seen was 39, no point going hihgher i guess

as for consumption, it is really a matter of jetting and riding style.

riding style plays the biggest factor, then comes the jetting, but make it so lean coz it may seize the minute u whack it on a cold nite if too lean
