Those guys always make a real mess of your bike with greasy hands etc. Had a bad tire changing experience there recently with my CBR150 also but can't prove it was them who damaged the tire when the fitted it.

:(

i went with 2 other prillers.. they paid 199$ for a pair.. change 1 1/2 set of tire.. and got refund for 1 tire.. kaka

Paid upfront; was told last minute while my rear was being changed that front no stock; demanded refund. Would've been happy to complete the transaction if front tyre was in stock - Ah boy's tyres are cheap and apparently genuine. However, get them mounted at your own workshop, not his.

where do you normally get them mounted and how much would you pay for that?

I usually (though not exclusively) have my bike done at Ideal Motor Sport (10 Kaki Bukit Rd 1). I bought and had my rear tyre ($121 incl mounting) mounted at Ah Boy's workshop, and bought and had my front ($110 for tyre only, I think, compared to $78 all-in from Ah Boy) mounted at Ideal. So, while I paid a labour charge of $10, I'm not sure how much Ideal would charge if you brought your own tyres.

Any decent workshop should do though. Ah Boy's workshop isn't decent, though I kinda like the guy and his rock-bottom prices, and buy tons of stuff from sister shop Regina.

Hmm? How do you know - cuz no one's PMed/emailed/SMSed you? And there's no name list here for people to sign up on either. But you know I'll be there. Anyone else going? Axxis? I suppose Sunday's family day for most people, but my girlfriend and I are both shift workers and she'll be at work during the DIY, while I'll be going to work after it.

haha.. I'm old n she seldom goes for Gal's nights out.

I have my "boyz" nights to hang out with my biker buddies but I usually reserve Sunday to spend time with her.

She already wants to chop my balls off for owning three bikes concurrently so I'm walking a tight rope as far as bike related activities are concerned.

Anyway, if lucky (ie bike ready) then I might be at PG that Sunday morning doing slow laps...

axxis: same idea too; i will definitely be there doing slow laps too if weather permits.promise my friend to go..think i will see you there...

muser> I'm hoping to go but I'm really not sure as yet. If I miss this one I'll make it for session 7. Really hope to make it to the track that Sunday or the Saturday before in which case I guess my bike should be sorted out by then. Also if I go track on e Sat then I MUST spend Sun morning with the gf.

No worries, there'll be plenty of upcoming DIYs. People are more important than machines.

First DIY session's always the most eye-opening, and learning how to clean a small but important component like the exhaust power valve helps give a healthy sense of bike ownership.

By the way, does anyone know where I can safely dispose of used engine oils and liquids? Like a designated collection/drop-off point or something? Hmm, I should ask my scrambler mech today.

I ride the R1.

And the bike with the fastest pick up is.... the 998S. Trust me on that. It takes off like a bat out of hell. The VTR1000SP2 (I never pictured it) is almost there too. The R1 can only beat it on top end... which is useless on PG. The R6 and 748 are the easier bikes of the entire bunch there to ride on PG because they're down on power compared to the literbikes. Too much power in PG is no good. Controllability and traction is more important. The 748 excels at that.

FC belongs to the R6. Smallest displacement, smallest consumption.

Hi all,

Anyone willing to sell an original (1995-1997) RS250 windshield in good condition?

Alternatively, anyone wants to trade windshields with me? Mine has a yellow tint windshield that appears to be made for touring.

You can PM me or SMS me at 96751984 to discuss.

Hi DeusExMachina,

I too was at the track on 26th March but I signed up for the earlier session. Too bad we didn't get the chance to introduce ourselves. I was riding the yellow 900SS.

DuesExMachina> what's your timing like at PG on the R1?

I've heard that a good rider can be just as fast around PG on a 600cc as a 1000cc bike. Even the fast motard boys are clocking sub 1:50's. It's REAL motivation. I'm wondering how I'm going to manage on my RS125 once it's sorted out.

Roadster> now I know who you are. :)

so when are you gonna take the RS250 down to PG?

still haven't fitted the tires, chain and sprocket and the pipe is sitting in the spare room waiting. I was told by leonard that Ahboy has aftermarket windscreens (cheap) for the RS125's and 250's

I really dunno what my timing is... Past 2 track sessions, I was totally having fun running around and didn't get anyone to time me.

Next time I go down, I'll ask someone to do it for me. Actually I've been wondering too. I don't think I'm fast though. I hope I'm under 2mins though... really hope... :p

Actually I feel that a 600 is faster than a 1000 in PG. Those tight turns are perfect for smaller bikes.

Exiting a corner in PG is always stressful for me. Everytime I see the bike ahead start to pull away from me, I open up my throttle a bit more..... and experience rear tyre slippage... the thing whips and slides. So I end up maintaining throttle... and use the straights to catch up a bit. Man I suck....

I'm still running OEM Dunlop D218. They slide a lot. I'll time myself on these tyres next session, and when I change them to maybe DCs, I'll time myself again.
