_wacko_, you're a genius! ARC/Arc/arc (just experimenting with capitalisation) is a lot cooler than AOC, cuz we can pronounce it! I second ARC! A designer, come on, somebody! I can't design to save my life. But I'd be happy to check the colours, convert from RGB to CMYK, blah blah blah, I'm good with a computer and am in the publishing business, I just can't draw to save my life. Waitaminute... I'm remembering that Lawrence said he can do stickers - Law, what do you say? But we still need a designer. Come come, don't shy hor...

itys been on my mind for some time..

heheh

:cheeky:

as for designing..

my fren is great with designing...

u all tell me wat u want inside..

i'm thinking of an italian flag...

and an aprilia logo..

then the "ARC"...

the most impt is the italian flag and the aprilia logo..

I'm ok guys. Thanks for your concern.

Basically an R6 had some major engine troubles right at the end of the session, just before the checkered flag. His bike pumped oil out onto his tyre and the track at the end of the straight. He crashed into the gravel pit. I came down the straight, spotted the flag and thought ok, last lap, turned into the corner and the next thing I knew I was sliding along on my arse and then I began to turn and tumble.

Damage is minimal, the front brake lever is gone as well as the bar end (RHS) and the clutch reservoir was also ground down at the corner. The pipe suffered some damage as did the foot peg on the RHS. The fairing is slightly ground at front right also. Basically minimal damage, mainly cosmetic. I managed to ride all the way back from PG to Singapore via the Tuas link using the back brake only. =p

Gotta say that my leathers really protected my skin. Even my helmet visor is scratched up. My brand new boots were scratched up less than 24 hours after purchase... haha. Luckily it was mainly the replaceable bits.

Anyway, I was supposed to pass my Sonic over to it's new owner on Sunday but I'm keeping it for a few more days until the CBR is repaired. Gotta get the RS125 up and running again.

Good news for the weekend.. my gf passed lesson 5 and is now ready to get her pdl and three more lessons before her TP test. HOORAY!

Servo> How was your track session anyway?

I viewed the bike. Conditions ok, engine supposedly just overhauled and he's quite convinced that engine definitely alright. Brake lever broken though. Otherwise appearance nothing much to detect.

Rear shocks need servicing, as stated in the ad. Fully stock.

but..er...the shell design is ugly, imho.

Guys,

If you dont mind something simple, I can do a few designs and post then as a poll to let everyone vote on the best...

I havent got too much experience, but I've designed namecards, posters, jerseys, t-shirts, advertisements, webpages and company logos.

Nothing fancy.... Will work on them tonight.

Have to get to work now.

Oh, will post pics of my HUD unit later, check back at evening time....

macan> I did the same thing to my bike but I also managed to damage the block so badly that it needs to be replaced. I'm currently searching for a 2nd hand block because I don't want to spend the money on a new one. Sadly 2nd hand blocks for post Y2k models are harder to find than those pre-y2k models. =(

anyway, now I'm looking for a complete engine from a pre-y2k bike to transplant into my bike. Think I might have found one but I'm waiting for the cost estimates to fix it up and make the switch.

Sounds nice! I'm not 100% sure about the Italian flag though since we're not Italian, and I love Singapore in spite of its warts. How about half an Italian flag and half a S'pore flag? And perhaps just singaporebikes.com, without the "www". But if everyone's cool with just the Italian flag, as well as the "www", then I'm perfectly happy to support it too.

You wait long long lah, Hanif - Lawrence's HUD is waaay out of your league. Probably out of my league to. It's just so awesome, stylish, sleek, and plain stunning! Wait till you see the photos that Lawrence is putting up soon.

Is this Woodcraft rear race stand way out of everyone's budget? I haven't quite decided how I feel about it. On the one hand, you get what you pay for, and you want something that lasts and that you can trust to support your bike. On the other, just how good do you need your race stand to be? As long as it doesn't break while you're working on your bike, isn't that good enough?

Hi all,

I went to Lavendar St. looking for Sporting Motorcycles to look for the draggin' jeans. But it seems they've moved to another location. A staff from Minerva Motor told me that they've moved to Mah, sort of inside Mah or something..

Anybody had any luck in looking for the draggin jeans?

Regards,

Daniel

Production of the RS250 was discontinued this year, and while they were selling for $16k while stocks lasted, I think Mah Pte Ltd doesn't have any more. Keep your eyes out for a RSV450 somewhere down the road. Although the RSV450 isn't confirmed, a production version of Aprilia's championship-winning supermotard will officially be launched some time this year, powered by a new 450cc V-twin, which will hopefully make it into a replacement for the RS250.

Sounds good, something to look fwd to, though its in Class 2 category, there are alot of other bikes to consider, but the V-twin sounds exciting. :thumb:

Well it was about 1am on Sunday morning actually....was eating at this place called Lorong Bapok when we saw 2 figures staggering down the sloping road....and several pple from the nearby workshops coming over to help them. We thought they had an accident so we rushed to help too. The guys face was covered in blood....n i mean covered! :giddy: you could hardly see his face...he was on the verge of unconciousness so we told them to lie down while somebody called an ambulance. His gf was has a deep gash on her cheek but was otherwise fine....she was the one who told us that they were attacked, the guy was hit with a metal pipe or something and it cut her cheek on the way to hitting his head. The weird thing was that they were both still wearing their helmets.......anyway, when the ambulance came i was at the nearby workshop talking to some of the other "witnesses"....thats when one of the pple who helped came over and told us that there was a hole in his head. Probably a gross exageration but from all the blood that was pouring down his face.....i dunnoe man :giddy:

A question....can it be worked by one person? On the sidestand our bikes are leaned to one side so getting it up means an initial imbalance so i'm just afraid if its not stable enuff or one of the pegs may not be able to handle all the weight of the bike on one side.

I don't think Woodcraft's rear stands can be comfortably worked by one person, although I suspect that won't deter lotsa people. As an alternative, check out Woodcraft's front wheel stand on their main stand products page, which is intended for one-man-shows. I'm don't know if it would provide enough stability though, even though there's an extra extension that wedges against the front fairing to prevent the front wheel from moving side to side.
