WOW.... the FC like drink water leh....

my mainly start-stop traffic during working, display show between 24~25KM/L mosly 25above.

Yah, I cheong at pick up hitting 80km/h......brand new scooter less than 4 months. Think all the above mentioned stil too early bah.

Anyway, 20km/l is my estimated calculation based on me pumping actual amount of petrol, while the dashboard display show between 19 to 22 (mostly 21. Something)

anyway just to check if this is a norm. my fuel needle barely touches the red "E" bar before i top up, top up about 12 litres. that means the last bar have almost 5 litres which is approx 100+km range more. Is that what u guys are getting too?

yes, i try calculate also abt that. end at red bar pump abt 12.4~12.8l.

SW full tank is 16 litres inclusive 2.5 litres reserve.

Once pass the red bar and barely touching E is around 12 litres +/-

So once touch E is warning already eventhought should have around 4 litres spare

Imagine if the Swing is lighter by ~75kg and runs on wet clutch, chain driven. The FC would be so much better thanjust the average 25km/L...

Haha... Mine also lah... FX plate JDM400 getting about 17-18 local use...

Thanks for being my 17km/l Buddy haha!

Ever tot of increasing the fuel tank capacity?

Wah garang.....imagine empty tank in middle of nowhere or expressway. Worse....push bike, if just 500m away from petrol station:eek:

I carry 1L aluminium fuel bottle on my scoot 24hr cos I dun wan end up like scoob below :p

not sure about JDM, but my FJS stalled once along PIE near the exit to Toa Payoh in 2009... trip meter showed 406km if i don't remember wrongly. my FC that time was around 25km/l and reserve blinker usually kicks in around 290-300km, so it works out about there lor :p

after that was tough tough and tough :faint:

pushed the monster to near SAFRA and parked there, hailed a cab to Esso at Lor 4 and ask cabbie to wait, rush in to buy tin can (need to register name and IC), bought and filled 2 litres of petrol and took cab back to bike. luckily the cabbie was understanding and helpful.

Seriously 406km on a full tank make me jealous lot lot! (Mine only 272km)

Think I convert my underseat storage to a fuel tank then go JB top up

One time can ride for a month:angel:

imagine riding a motorcycle that stays UPRIGHT ALL THE TIME, no need to put legs down when stopping at traffic lights, no worries about falling off while skidding over slippery floor... that could be reality soon.

Lit Motors in US (California) came out with an electric powered 2 wheeled vehicle that "stands" on its own, the "C-1".

knock it on its side, it tilts and then back to its upright position, with the aid of 2 gyro stabilisers inside.

guess what, they're already taking orders and each is estimated to cost about US$24K (before tax tariffs/incentives) in north america.

http://techcrunch.com/2012/09/10/lit-motors-will-shake-up-the-electric-vehicle-market-with-its-two-wheeled-untippable-c-1/

while we may not want to ride inside a 2-wheeled shell, potential applications of gyro stabilisers on bigger sized bikes would be really interesting.

imagine riding a Gold Wing or Silver Wing that won't topple over... ho say liow :cheer:

Continue with our retirement conversation last night based on age 40.

. if you need $500 in 15 years future dollar = $900

. in order to have that $900 in 15 years time, you will need to have $150k in your CPF-SA now.

Hmm... using 4% inflation?

More accurately should minus off the component of Car and Housing. Essential goods and services would be good enough, but hor... Government's brain not so flexible.

Also continue on the interest rates... my bad. I thought the $40k was at OA. It should be:

1. OA. 3.5% (1st $20k) and the balance at 2.5%.

2. SA. 5% (1st $40k) and the balance at 4%.

You can transfer the OA to SA, max at the minimum sum value. Example: Once your SA has reached minimum sum, cannot transfer anymore.

Yes, all based on 4%, both inflation and CPF Interest.

Current MS is at $148,000, guess government feel that we should live with $500 current dollar during our retirement. $500 enough for your bike and bike maintenance only. So food how ?

Hitting 150k MS not easy. Definitely during retirement, we can always sell our flat and downgrade to studio, but provided HDB still in demand at that time.

Minimum Sum (MS)... maxed liao...

Anyway, my estimates:

Need $450k (OA and SA) when reached 55.

Less MS (est $160k++) will have balance $290k remain in CPF to continue earn interest.

From 55 to 64 = can get about $2k per month. *Withdrawal $24k yearly.

From 65 to 74 = $1.2k (Annuity) + $800 (withdrawal) = $2k per month.

75 onwards.... get ready for next life.

$2k a month (1 person, net amount) should be enough for a normal life with some sports and games up North.

If wanna eat shark fins everyday... then must bend down every now and then. Arboh, invest in properties/stocks, like many HOMs.
