2009 Honda VTR 250cc

Seems like the new 2009 VTR 250cc is being launched in Japan.

Wonder if Boon Siew will bring this in.

Reported that it's still V-Twin engine but this time with PGM-FI.

Air box has been shifted under fuel tank to maintain slim design.

Very unlikely Boon Siew will bring it in. For example the fuel injected Shadow 400 has been around for some time but not brought in. The trend for them is to bring in China and Brazil made Hondas. But maybe those bigger bike shops like Looi's can parallel import it

instrument panel looks the same as CB400...

overall looks is neat, but locally we still side to CB400 since they the same class 2A

how experienced ryders feel about DOHC, 4V, V-twin engine?

the meter is fine... it comes with HISS too...

headlamp is cool

all replicate CB400 lurve it very much, wonder how it sounds like.

no way... instead of analog repl it to digital is'nt tht sweet. the headlamp muz b diff than s4 sumthing like err... Duke, Z1000, Speed Triple a lit bit diff. juz my 2 cents. i think its a waste to bring out 250. why not 400cc.

i wonder is it a trend to fit in a wider market? cos seems like lots of bike 250 or 600cc very common... not many come out bike 400cc

Any current VTR riders riding the old VTR when it was here few years ago? where have all the VTR riders gone?

 

I do have this feeling that given that cc, people will still prefer the Ninja 250 or Yamaha R4.

Hmmmm...... No offense, but Honda seems to have run out of ideas.... The VTR looks great, but it looks like the Ducati 400 Monster rip-off... N it should have come in the 400cc class, as 250cc is rather unpopular here in Singapore... Honestly, I'd love to ride the VTR, as it'll be a cheaper 'Ducati'.

If u take a look at the video clip on the website, the girl look more interested with bike, rather then the guy... Taking a closer lookat the bike, spec III headlight, mirror and the meter also look similar. Well it really look like a ducati lookalike.....

VTR250 pretty much exists way before, just that its updated with fuel injection. Not really a new model. And dont expect them to introduce a 400cc just because of our needs. We are just a pea in the global market.

yeah i dont think many countries have a bike license limit at 400cc... rather, 250cc is more common so they produce more 250cc..

 

we would like 400cc cos we always like to squeeze the max of our limits.. haha.. if ride 250cc you will find not worth it, license to 400cc why must buy 250cc..

haha honda should "award" singapore 2A ryders CB400,CBR400,RVF hardcore supporter! (*actual fact is we also no choice haha)

 

it would take a long long time 4 another 400cc model...

I've just got a reply from Boon Siew Honda.

They are not intending to bring this in even though Japan and Hong Kong have it.

It's a pity.

Maybe we should really consider in capping 2B at 250cc. Then 250s will sell like hot cakes.

All the capacity talks aside, not many of us cud have a chance to test ride let alone own a v-twin engined bike..i think wat honda is tinking to let ppl able to experience the power orf a v-twin engine at an affordable price(i hope)..look at the ducati monsters nowadays...all of the new models fall only into the class 2 category...not to mention the price, and high insurance premiums that these bikes carry...to me it does make sense why honda churned out the VTR250 out the factory...

 

Anyway, not all VTRs have fairing...tat day saw this ang moh's bike and managed to have a chat wit him..and he is riding a Honda VTR1000 Firestorm..and its a naked Vtwin sports tourer...

well i'm riding VTR SP1..1000..the only V twin race bike...last procduction is 2006...Honda build VTR Sp1 in 2000 den 2002 they build SP2(lighter & ez to ride) is to beat the Ducati's 916 in his own game...
