Which 2009 Superbike?

Apologies in advance if this poll's already been done somewhere. I'm interested in knowing what litre bike would everyone get for 2009, assuming they could (i.e. Cl2 already in hand, financing for that bike is realistic and achievable etc). I've included a poll that of course features the Japanese Big 4 of Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki and Kawasaki, plus Italian stallions Ducati. A quick check on our roads reveal that these 5 marques are what most bikers are riding. I've also added an 'Other' category for bikers who want to choose the BMWs, Aprilias, MV Agustas and other bikes that are not listed in the poll. Just select 'Other' and explain your choice in the main thread.

 

I've left out the Suzuki Hayabusa, Yamaha FJR, Honda Blackbirds etc cos those are Sport tourers. Let's just focus on the superbikes for this poll.

Its been proven and tested! CBR1K MOST awarded best bike for street use. R1 very much grut and its more for track use and its has got the emph feeling!

 

Rest up for individual to decide. For me if you dun track get a CBR1K 2009 Voted best bike for many mag and bike shows.

Well, all of these bikes are superb! For normal use on local roads, you will hardly ever test their full capabilities. So, it boils down to personal preferences. Looks, riding posture, reliability, availability of parts and service and exclusivity. The R1 has been getting rave reviews in just about every mag due to its new 'crossplane crankshaft' borrowed from its MotoGP technology. But I really think its head fairing needs a lot of getting used to. It looks weird, like a bug-eyed alien. The previous model looks so much better. For me, I really like the Suzuki Gixxer Thou, always had a thing for twin pipes on either side of the wheel, but a lot of mags are saying it is not as good on the track as its rivals in the tests they've done so far.

Well, yeah if the DODGE TOMAHAWK 8200 had a 2009 model, I'll even add it in. But no, last time I checked it was last updated in 2003. Heck, I'll even chuck in Batman's motorcycle from The Dark Knight if I could, heh heh. Anyway the MTT Superbike was just for fun, I doubt anyone would want to ride it on our roads. Plus it's not a litre bike. And it's super slow at low rpms. The engine only takes off if you have enough long straight roads.

FYI IT IS a Production bike. Provided you have the cash. Its handbuilt. Sort of like Zonda.

This video by MCN explains about the R1 2009 Vs CBR1000RR 2009.

They seem to like the R1.

 

The next 2 videos talks abt the R1 vs CBR vs K9 vs ZX10 vs 1198s.

Part 1 is a test the track. R1 is the prefered chioce. Not so good comments abt the K9.

 

Part 2 is a road test. They still like the R1 and the CBR.

 

On the recent SBK races, seems like the RSV has better top speed compared to the rest.

But the R1 still dominates. Can't wait for my R1 to arrive.
