Anybody tried a 1/2 clutch 2nd gear and brake rear together before ... ur bike will get a bit of vibration rite??? ... mine's a little bit more complex ...

Will have that kind of vibration when slowing down braking ... hard braking ok.

will also happen when i clutch in full and brake sometimes

had my wheel and rotor checked out ... mech said fine

changed my cone bearing 1 week ago

changed my 3 pairs of brake pads 1 week ago

Bleed the brake hose coz suspected that was it ... (but that was not it)

if anyone has had this problem before, can advice me on what to do??

Solved it .... It's a warp disc looks like ok ... but was not ok ... hehehe ...

total cost $190.

ti ti ti sounds like valve out of spec.

ta ta ta sounds like cam chain tensioner, sound will become louder and louder with each passing day. Better change asap.

ti ti ti is normal, i just did my valve clearance a few weeks back.

95k with just 1 valve out of spec.

Hi, this recently happened, spluttering back fires, very very minor, happens only in the morning start ups for first firing and when try to throttle up to 4000rpm just to blow a little can hear it spluttering like back firing.

Is it time to change the spark plugs?

Could the seniors advise, thanks.

same for me but happen when I ride when my bike is not fully warmed up (fast idle still on) and when I engine brake, the exhaust will make a low pop pop sound. I believe it's because the fuel mixture is rich when starting up, resulting in the sound. Hence it's not an anomaly.

But sounds quite nice though!

Hi, i like to know whether 5th generation 00 front n rear brake pad the same as 6th generation 06 model. Thks.

According to the EBC catalogue VFR800 from 98-05 uses FA261HH while the 06 model onwards uses FA388HH. Both are sintered HH compound.

What the diff is, I don't know.

You can download the parts catalogue from http://www.ebcbrakes.com/mb-catalogues.html

the "tatata" sound is the distinctive indications of CCT problem.

Sometimes it might surface after a hot ride, but serious case is immediate after starting your bike.

I got it twice for my front CCT :(

CCT loose and valve clearance issues tend to sound almost similar but they are still distinctable.

To muddy the waters further, Suzuki are known to employ noisy injectors which have a clicking sound very similar to those of valves with clearances out of range.

But the youtube you sent really sounds like valve clearance issue.

I had a fren on a GSR with a CCT issue.

It sounded more like a chainsaw grinding against some metallic surface.

Just get it replaced. Damage should be less than $300. And you can use the opportunity to flush coolant, clean engine compartment, clean air filter etc.

Just one question,i've seen manual cct on some website. As for ours(stock from honda),is it automatically adjust by using the engine oil pressure or the spring inside it appling the pressure?. Btw regarding the video, the knocking sound starts not immedietly but after a few seconds after the engine starts.

Automatic dude.

Just install the new tensioners and you're ready to go. No manual adjustments.

Okay thanks bro...asked my lecturer today regading the CCT. How the auto adjust works,he's not sure on bikes, but on cars the CCT auto adjust by using the oil pressure from the eo pump. I take this as an extra knowledge since diesel engines mostly use pushrod style to activate the valves.

MT23:

Just replace the front twice.

Quite reasonable, less than 2 blues for a CCT+Gasket+Labour.

Don't have to replace coolant if the mechanic knows how to work around the radiator :)

Do check the CCT chain to ensure it is still within the specs, otherwise replace it too.

sino74:

Once replace, the V4 will sound as good as before.

WildCard:

To me the VFR CCT noise is very distinctive from the out of spec valve noise.

I almost turn of my bike the first time I heard it. Tot something was extremely wrong!
