Hi to all the "Lao jiao" babyblade owner here,cuz next Month I'll be getting my 2A license and intending to get a CBR 400 for my next bike any advice is which type of model that is recommended for me to take?as I had notice there is quite a lot of diff type models out there.better for me like in terms of speed and maintenance wise and anything for me to take note of when getting one?

ask someone who knows how to view cbr to go view with you? i think cbr usually is wiring problems. look out for wear and tear parts lor. and signs of accident.

imo watever model of cbr is the same. i mean how fast you want to travel in sg. although ppl still get the faster the better bike. but they dont utilise it. so i think r model will be a better choice cos its the youngest.

all of the above are my humble opinions. dont flame me pls :p

hi guys was hoping for some advise on rebuilding a cbr400 as a project bike...

http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/showthread.php/323917-Honda-CBR400RR-%28L-model%29

basically COE for the bike is ending this month and owner has not used the bike in a while... battery is dead, tires need to be changed and a full servicing is due... i think the machine price is good but im afraid the cost of rebuilding the bike will be more than the effort.... here are some preliminary calculations i have done for just after taking over the bike:

machine -500

coe (5 years or 10 years) - 1150 or 2300

transfer fees - 50

road tax - 50

full servicing - 150 (EO, plugs, oil filter)

battery - ??

tires - 250-300

chain and sprocket (x-ring) - 200

so before my insurance, it will cost around under 4k to get a cbr with 10 years of road life....

was hoping you guys can fill me in on the other costs like:

radiator?

wiring?

fuel lines?

rectifier?

starter carbon?

rear brake kit?

brake pads?

carburettor servicing, tuning and replacing of fuel and air jets?

to me sounds like a good project to undertake but will have to prepare lots of cash and time in the workshop to do up the bike... im thinking in the long run will have to spend a total of at least 6-7k total if i want to do up the bike fully with new paintwork, after market pipe and other engine goodies....

do you guys think it is worth the time and $$? is 5 years of COE enough (considering cbr400 is already 20 years old)?

thanks for your input guys, always appreciated...

S$500 for a COE ending soon CBR400....

good project bike :thumb:

just for reference only:-

radiator=S$430

wiring=S$360-400

fuel lines=S$8-10

rectifier=S$60-65

starter carbon=S$60-70

rear brake kit=(which parts? caliper or masterpump?)

brake pads=S$45 for 1 bike

carburettor servicing, tuning and replacing of fuel and air jets=S$120-150 (excluding change the stock jetting to after market jetting)

for me..........

a S$500 for a COE ending soon CBR400....

i prefer buy and sell the part separately :cool:

Hi guys, thanks alot for those who intro me to go "bikeworks" to fixe my slanted fork..

I went today at about 10am, and everything was done by 3.30pm.. quite a long wait uh, but considering they had to send the fork to other shops to do the alignment and that it's a saturday.. i suppose its normal to have to wait awhile..

now lets hope my fork dosent leak oil again ba.. only caused me $160 for fork alignment and 2x oil seal +refill fork oil.. =)

much thanks to all who helped again.. =)

I have some box thingy hanging from under my tail fairing dangling around the pillion footrest.. found out that the cable tie holding it snapped.. think its the signal relay or maybe for the brake anyone might know? its on the right side..

Another reason why I am gna buy a brand new bike for class 2 cant stand all these cable tie.. even my fairing is held up by cable tie..
