UPDATE # 4 - 16 Sep. 2010

The booking of the Singapore Packages for ADW from Gary Sharman of NAZA is now closed !

However, DOC(S) bookings of accommodation at Concorde Hotel, reservations of seats at the RED DINNER and purchase of MotoGP tickets from Joe Lee at Minerva joe.lee@ducati.com.sg are open for another week. We need to confirm with the hotel on 24 Sep. 2010.

The response to this year’s MotoGP Weekend and the RED DINNER has not been what we have seen in previous years. We understand that the ADW organized by NAZA has caused some confusion. We’re sorry about that since the ADW is totally out of DOC(S) control.

As per today we have only 11 people confirmed for the RED DINNER, which is quite disappointing. Last year at this time before the dinner we already had a waiting list.

The dinner is complementary by DUCATI Singapore (Minerva Motor Pte Ltd is sponsoring the dinner). It is a buffet dinner at The Spices Restaurant in Concorde Hotel.

In addition there is goods worth of SGD 2500+ to be given away in Lucky Draw and other activities during the dinner. Tiffany Pan, Minerva, has worked hard on suppliers and the items to be given away are; a Tissot T-race watch from The Swatch Group, a S4 AGV helmet from LAB, insurance vouchers from E. Tay Trading, 1 par Ducati Fuel Cell sunglasses and 1 pair Ducati Scalpel-Casey Stoner Edition from Oakley Singapore, 15 pairs of movie tickets from Warner Bros, wine from Booze Wine Shop. Pirelli Singapore has sponsored cash SGD 500.00 to the dinner.

It’s quite some efforts put in to make this “5th Anniversary MotoGP Weekend” worth for the members to join.

If you have already made your reservation with Concorde Hotel and/or reserved your seat(s) at the Red Dinner, you don’t have to reply to me.

For the rest of you, here are two things I would like you to do as soon as possible.

Make your reservation with Concorde Hotel, KL. Use attached Accommodation Request form. Fill it out and send to Concorde Hotel, KL. There is one (1) FOC

DOC(S) Events t-shirt with every room. You have to email me the size and color (whit, black or red) you want.

Please email me your reservation of seat(s) at the Red Dinner. ALL members (full members and associate members) with a valid membership (06/11) are welcome to this dinner FOC. All beverages on individual accounts. Guests and non-members are welcome to join and are requested to pay SGD 50.00 per person for the dinner.

Note: Lucky Draw and activity prizes will ONLY be given to DOC(S) members.

[/img]

On behalf of the DOC(S) Committee, Minerva Motor Pte Ltd and the sponsors of this event, I would like to encourage as many Singapore Ducatistis as possible to join the Red Dinner and celebrate that we all are members of a unique family, the World Wide Ducati Family.

RIDE and have FUN.

WHAT

I think the matt black you miss out a zero. Haha. Thanks!

But I heard that it will only arrive next year? Interesting how come the black version is cheaper. Hmmm.

I'm still deciding man.. Coz for the price I'm paying for, I could get a Haya or any other bigger bore bike.

Yeah I did miss out a zero...

It's cheaper, cause the color is "Matt" and the $34 comes with ur standard metallic color.

Oh cause you can buy a bigger bore bike with that money, but then again your buying into a brand here (ducati), with a new experience.

an article,some of u might 've missed,thru d weekend!

(hate it,when ppl come out to u & ask ,hey u saw the article dat day abt....but u 've NOT the faintest ideas, what they talking abt)

s'pore ducati owners may 've pledge allegiance to one colour but they all 've..........

DIFFERENT REASON TO RIDE.

THEY may all ride Ducati motorcycles and paint the town red as a group.

RED AND REVVING: The Ducati brotherhood at the Sepang International Circuit on one of the trackdays organised by the Rev Club.

[/img]

But each Ducati owner sings a different tune.

For Ducatisti or Italian for Ducati enthusiasts, the reasons why they choose to own Ducati bikes are as varied as the colours of the rainbow.

For some, it

Mr Tan, 51, who owns two Ducatis - a Monster S4RS and a 1098S - said that getting a motorcycle depends on what you intend to use it for.

As a member of the Ducati Owners Club Singapore (DOCS), he prefers to ride his Italian-made Monster because of its upright riding position, speed and agility.

Said Mr Tan, a former commercial diver: 'I get to go touring on a motorcycle with sportsbike-like handling.'

[/img]

On weekends, Mr Tan joins other members of the DOCS, founded in 2006, on their usual Sunday Lunch Rides or SLRs.

This takes them into Malaysia where, after several hundred kilometres of riding, the club members would break for lunch.

Added Mr Tan:

Like other registered bike clubs, the DOCS supports a charity - the Thye Hua Kwan Moral Society - through donations and charity rides.

DOCS also conducts a memorial ride each year for friends who are no longer with them, including those who have died in road accidents.

So what is a typical Ducati rider?

It's hard to say. Mr Joseph Lee, sales manager at Ducati Singapore, says there's a good mix of young and old.

A little of everything

He said: 'We have students and also people in the 70s who ride our motorcycles. Ducati is a brand known for racing, yet there are some who buy Ducati motorcycles without even knowing (about) top racers like Casey Stoner or Troy Bayliss.'

To date, there are more than 650 registered Ducati motorcycles plying Singapore roads. About 200 Ducati owners are members of DOCS.

But lumping all Ducati owners as people with deep pockets is not a fair assumption, said Mr Lee.

He added: 'True, we have rich owners who think nothing of buying a $130,000 Ducati and strangely clocking only 3km in a year. Quite a handful own more than one Ducati motorcycle.

'But we also sell our bikes to people whose dream is to own a Ducati.'

These Ducatisti have been stung by what Mr Lee calls the 'twin-cylinder bug'.

Unlike motorcycles with an inline four-cylinders configuration, the signature L-twin Ducati engine produces more torque from below the rev range.

Such performance benefits are what circuit-riding riders love about their Ducati sportsbike.

Home for these riders is the winding turns at Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia.

Said Mr Muhammad Azami, 35: 'What brings us together is the need for speed. Of course, we want to have fun, but also do it safely.'

It was for these reason that four Ducati owners decided to form the non-profit Rev Club in late 2008.

The goal of the club is to create a camaraderie and platform for like-minded sportsbike enthusiasts to enjoy trackday sessions at race circuits.

Mr Azami, who is one of the four co-founders, said that 15 trackdays would have been organised by year's end.

The Rev Club books six weekends in a year for its activities at Sepang.

Each of these trackdays, which is also open to non-Ducati riders, is a sold-out event attracting a about 60 riders. It costs about $175 for each weekend track session.

Mr Azami added: 'In the future, we hope to work with international racers who can help coach our riders to become better at circuit riding.

'At the same time we intend to keep costs low so as not to turn off participants

Cyphurus - ppl will disturb bike more than car... even ppl who own R1 or Busa or even harley sometime do get disturb. Anyway if u planning to get 1 than prepare to install alarm and cover with canves.. this doesnt help to prevent but at least not so attractive.

There is someone out there for me

I know there is someone out there

I know she is waiting so patiently yeah

Can you tell me her name?

(Somebody tell me her name)

This life-long search is gonna drive me insane

How does she laugh?

How does she cry?

What's the color of her eyes?

Does she even realize I'm here?

Where is she? Where is she? Where is she?

Where is this beautiful girl?Who is she? Who is she?

Who is gonna complete my world?
