i MIGHT be joining the docs/minerva for the 2 days events @ sepang , so if u guys 're free for the sunday,do hook up.

The focus and emphasis for this year's anniversary will be on new and potential riders. Together, with our partner and support from the Singapore Traffic Police (TP), Singapore Motorcycle Traders Association (SMCTA) and Singapore Motor Sports Association (SMSA), we target to deliver the message of safe riding not only to the motorcyclists, but also to the general public in the hopes of achieving an understanding and find common grounds from both the drivers and pedestrians alike, in this safety campaign. We would like to make Singapore's road a safer environment and towards a more enjoyable riding experience for motorcyclists.

Anyway not too sure will i join such big and packed event in the future with my hypermotard. Bikes are parked tightly side by side. Risk getting the bike paint chipped, kicked and knocked.

 

Good cause aside. I prefer small groups gathering with good friends coupled with short or long distance ride.

Not true and ducati dun have cl 2b bike. However the feel of a duc is very different from jap bike. Hope it answer your doubt.

Just like to say HI! Ohayo pointed me here....I'm quite new to the Ducati Fraternity....riding a MS1200S, just got the bike in NOV 2010....look fwd to meeting with u folks sometime!

 

 

 

our next meetup is on the 6 of feb 10am , the chinese new year weekend !

after the weekend of visiting/feasting/gambling&boozing , me reckon its a good time to get it all out on a sunday morning !

the locations is not really set up yet but it gonna ends in chinatown(cny,mah)

members suggest we start north , dis time,but where?

i've got a few place recommended by members,dats one i 'm doing a survey tomorrow morning is BOTTLE TREE in yishun.

alkapot,evoiiigsr is joing me.

anybody who dieing to get out ,after a week @ the office can hook us up ,tomorrow morning @ 0945-1015 bottle tree.

Hi Guys! I have not been riding for yrs. Now feel like going into bike again. Always wanted to own a Ducati. So now eyeing on getting a Ducati Monster (not 400cc) for leisure ride at nite. Can u guys give some comments on tis bike and the pricing pls? Be it new or old monster.

bro, if you want to own a ducati, go for it. Since its going to be a leisure ride at night, you should not worry too much. Unless you want to do the extreme like touring or tracking. Then definitely you are going to get the RIGHT one. I always believed we riders do not have much years to enjoy riding. As we aged, certain bike categories are out of our reach already. By then its way too late for regrets.

Monster 1100 EVO was announced in 2010, 1st batch should be coming this year. Monster 1100s was priced at 32200 back then. Monster evo should be around the region

Hi! Me too...Just stared riding Nov last year again after 10years! Take it slow bro....step at a time...I also concure you may wanna have a look the Streetfighter. Prices wise just pop by Minvera for a look see. If I can dig up my price list (Sept10) I'll let ya know.

The streetfighter looks gd too. I m looking at a 2nd hand Monster1100 with a price around 20k+. Saw a streetfighter selling at 30k+. WOW!! Its beyond my budget i set for a bike..

 

 

if your budget is 20k+ ... then i suggest you look at Monster 796 ... its a good all rounder ... power when you need it but not too powerful that its a chore to ride in Spore start stop traffic situation ...

 

stock looks menacing enuff ... but with bling2 add-ons ... can wipe clean your life's worth of savings ...

 

if you using this bike at nite to pick up chicks ... the rear seat cowl is removable for 2 up riding ...

 

only 2 colours IMHO that can let the chicks know that its a Ducati and not a Super4 (no offence to S4 riders) .... RED or WHITE ...

 

and yes ... the tank can change colour to RAINBOW colours of your choice .... the accessories catalogue is thicker than the bible ...

 

riding wise ... comfortable ... flickable ... squeezeable ... wheelieable .... endoable ... trackable (yet to try myself - will need to buy back the track gears first)

 

but most important ... if you dont wanna ride it ... its a great decorative piece to park in your home or at the neighbourhood carpark ... people just love Dukes ...

I am new to here currently riding 07 hyper 1100S.

 

wanna ask a few a question.

 

1) What is the charging voltage of this model cos i only get 13.7 where manual says 14.9 max. is there something wrong with my rectifier? My battery just changed only.

 

2) Is the main head light bulb H4 55W? Cos i dunno y my manual says H7. Sian...

 

3) Tire Pressure. This question quite bugged me cos manual say 32 PSI. Meaning 220 KPA. Is it too low? Cos all the few bikes i ride weight is lower than this bike but need about 230 KPA front 260 KPA rear.

 

Lastly is termi exhaust legal for this bike. cos i saw from what they post here shows that there is some issues for ducati bikes with it.

 

Hope you all pros out there can help me ans this noob qns... haha.

1) Battery is fine. I get that voltage as well. 14.9v is the max but does not mean that it have to be charged to full 14.9v all the time. As long as the battery is not charging low, its fine.

 

2) Lightbulb not sure. I did not touch mine.

 

3) 220 KPA is allright. You can try pumping a higher pressure if you want to get the right feel but don't overpump or else it will be very uncomfortable. I am using 32 PSI and it suits me.

 

4) Termis are legal at least for the hyper. That being said, its the 2-2 sys (just endcan) and not the 2-1 (full sys). You will need to get the bike re-inspected for the termis since its the LTA ruling.

 

Lastly, you worry too much. Just ride the hell outta it and enjoy. The issues you mentioned are pretty minor. Wait till u get to the major ones like pulling wheelies at will, riding like a retard, burnouts... etc... etc... that's when the biggest problem is keeping your license intact. Tip: This bike doesn't like to be ridden gently so once you are comfortable with it, ride it hard and you will enjoy it more.
