Got ambushed by LTA yesterday evening for exhaust. Spent half of today running around changing my temis to stock but still failed inspection for rear mud guard and number plate in front. Anyone know how much the fine for exhaust?

Anyone wants 848 termis slip-ons? Willing to let go cheap $1.5k, used for 3 months 1,500km only. Currently the termis at Minerva, so can ride in for installation if we close deal by end of next week. Whoever interested can PM me.

Nice meeting bro with street fighter at Minerva today.

Finally got my bill from LTA after almost 3 weeks. Thought they let me off, was wrong. Damage was $500 for the exhaust and $30 for mudguard.

My termis slip-on still for sale. Anyone interested can pm me.

You were using stock or DP mudguard? Some inspection centres fail stock mudguard also coz when local distro sent the new models for inspection they affixed the ugly long mudguard in order to pass.

Had the exact same 2 offenses many years back and appealed too. But after the appeals, only got an extension in payment date. Definitely no harm trying tho! Go for it.

hi bros, i think i should buy a proper riding boots and not use my sneakers.....i know it all boils down to budget and purpose but can anyone recommend me something that protects and yet looks like normal boots? I looked around and most of the them looks too "robotic".......any suggestions including place to buy and pricing to look out for? sorry if i post this is a wrong room but i was hoping the boots will work well with my duc :-)

Have had good experiences with the TCX Jupiter riding boots. They don't look outrageous and are pretty good @ keeping water out when used with rain pants. :thumb:

Chiap Lee @ Serangoon was where I got them if you're interested to check them out.

I found some Alpinestar shoe/boots that do the job. Bit more protection than sneakers but don't look over the top so can still wear as normal shoe..even at work. Got them from Regina. Take a look at the alpine star website and see if you like them

...too many to list

Nice....this is what I would probably want as it is so "normal" looking while offering good basic protection features. Cool looks! Too bad out of stock!!!

I use Timberland Boots with Goretex. They are more comfortable than most riding boots for me and are thus more suitable for everyday use without compromising on basic protection. I use something like the one below

$30 for the rear mud guard. I checked with Minerva and they say stock come w/o rear mudguard but STA Sin Min showed me this photo of 848 with a long hideous looking mud guard hanging from the rear plate which they passed for inspection, lan lan nothing to say. I got a workshop to send my bike for 2nd inspection, not sure what the did but passed.

Will try to appeal as many suggested since this is my first offense, hope to get discount.

Found a solution to your problem

http://www.nose-hair-clipper.com/

On daily riding boots, to me, must meet this criteria

Protect ankle

No shoelace that can get entangled or come loose

If there are laces, then those fasteners that clip up the laces are a must. Also easier to remove the shoes when unclipped. But tight when clipped.

Additional leather protection, double layer at the top part of the shoes that will face the gear shifter

Good grip dry or wet

Thanks all bros for the suggestion on boots....lots of homework today :-)

Just returned from Minerva and they worked out my setup issues, they made it look very simple and it was.

Nice ride to and fro jurong west to kaki bukit in downcast skies with nice breeze.

Not sure if any of you have this phenomenon but somehow the area around my nose must itch when i ride and it is damn irritating to have to slow down, open the visor of my fullface and scratch only to have it happen again in minutes lol...not sure if its some loose hair somewhere :-)
