Hi Guys,

Over the week end I just changed the tyres on my SF to the 190/55 Pirelli Supercorsas (SC2). I was admiring the thick rounded profile rear hoop and already thinking of the extreme lean angle that is possible with this tyre. Took the bike out to M'sia for a blast and stopped at the petrol station for a drink. Looked at the rear tyre and noticed an extra shiny band in the centre of the tyre...after some detective work, I realised that due to the thicker more rounded profile of the SC2, the centre portion of the rear tyre is very close to the swingarm, 5mm clearence at most. I was theorised that at somewhat higher speeds, the rear tyre will expand and rub the swingarm. After some experimentation, anything above 130kmh, the tyre rubs. What the #@%$!!!! This is a problem, why in the world would the same size tyre as OEM not fit in the swingarm (despite slight difference in profile of the tyre).

thats the precise engineering of ducati bro. the clearance btw the swingarm n tires is so small that when u change to a different profile tires, due to tires pressure, it rubs against the swingarm. so there is a reason why they use corsa 3 for streetfighter diff fr the rest.

So should I increase the tyre pressure or reduce it. The last thing I want to do is to increase the "truck like" wheel base even further

Basically, it's more straight forward to trouble shoot for carbs.

Parts for carbs are also more readily available.

All else fails change carbs.

For injection, there're far less serviceable parts,

more like, "If it's spoilt, change it"

Also you'll need more specialized equipment for tuning.

Do you see the cost involved?

OK point noted. Thank u :)

it was mine ... but now it belongs to the junkyard ... thanks for your concern ...

U scrapped the ducati? Beyond repair?

Where did you get your kit from? You can try asking el tigre for more help he is the go-to man for 848 dry clutch installation haha

*APPARENTLY THERE'S SOME CHANGE OF LOCATION(CHECK DIS OUT)

FYI DIS A D.OC.S. EVENT BUT ALL 'RE WELCOME , ON A DUKE OF COARSE !

It’s time again to gather for our Annual Memorial Ride.

Sunday 27 November 2011

Meet up point: McDonalds, West Coast.

End Point: Sembawang Point.

Distance: 55-60km

Meet up Time: 0830

Push of Time: 0900

Lunch will be free and easy; there are several food joints near Sembawang pt such as Handlebar etc.

Their Key Message is; Best attired (approved helmet, gloves, covered pants, boots or covered shoes, jacket). Bike in good condition (non botak tires, sufficient fuel etc). There will be NO overtaking, NO speeding, NO stopping (unless there is bike trouble, in which case we will assign someone to handle the situation)

This is the ride where we have had the biggest number of bikes and riders joining. We all love our sport and to ride our motorcycles. It’s a hobby with a lot of risk involved. Unfortunately, some of our friends and members of our club are not with us anymore due to the fact that human errors, also called accidents, happen and in a blink of an eye takes away a friend and fellow rider.

We are fortunate that another year has passed without any major accidents happening to any of our members. The core group of the club has clocked up a significant number of kilometers since the Memorial Ride last year.

Join in for a nice Sunday morning ride to Sembawang Point for a bit of reflections and thanksgiving.

LETS DO IT BRO ?????

REFLECTION?

YEAH !

The definition of overheat is when water/air starts to escape via the pressure cap. As long as that doesn't happen, your fine.

Both steam and water were shooting out the pressure cap. But I guess shutting off ASAP helped to ensure nothing was damaged. Got it checked thoroughly by mech for leaks/cracks and other overheating related problems and to my surprise, passed with clean bill of health. Looks like the manufacturing tolerances were much higher than I thought.

More PG track session pics..!!! It's juz too bad our hands are kept busy with the throttle thus we are unable to dedicate quality time for picture session.

Checa giving some pointers....

Checa: "This bike is just not fast enough, we will never catch the Hondas. The most we can do is to make the bike look better, here make the seat red suede so it matches the paintwork"
