18 days....the mechanism in your engine...anything that needs lubrication...will be bone dry..

there are certain things you need to do ...before you start your engine...

starting it dry...you may damage your engine as a result of all the frictional resistenence in the engine...

i wii do this...

check petrol...is the petrol stale???...yes petrol can be stale when the volatile compound in the petrol has evaporated. if bad..get a good stuff..

is the battery good?/

now the most important is clean spark plug...with the plugs taken out...spray wd 40 into engine..hopefully that will lubricate the piston rings..

then turn engine slowly by pushing it in gear...

then electrical start your engine...

this is to mininise damage to the an idle engune..that is not run for a long time..

i love my ezzyoiler

experience the miracle...

Even I am curious. What do you think the reason is for starting problem if I dont start the bike for 2-3 days, but no problem if I start daily?

engine is too cold...conendsation in the fuel system..this maybe the cause..carb needs cleaning and tuning..

Hey guys,

When do you know that it is time to change your chain? My phantom, when I bought, the chain was really dry and some links were really hard and rusty. Then I have oil it and have tightened the chain. Right now the chain seems to be ok but if I hold 2 links and try to move them horizontally then there is some movement. The chain along the rear sprocket doesn't seem to fit tight. I can actually press it and it moves a bit inside-outside so the links seem to have stretched a bit.

I am not sure if I have explained properly. But these are the symptoms. Mainly the links have stretched significantly.I do hear some noise while riding, but its not excessive. So should I change the chain and sprocket or just live with it?

Thanks bro. Yeah I will replace the chain and sprocket immediately.

Here are pics of how much the chain has elongated :)

I went to Lim Ah Boy and changed my sprockets and chain. I got the DID VX2 x-Ring chain and 41/14 sprockets for 110$ along with installation.

The standard size is front 13 teeth but LAB gave me 14 teeth front which means now my gear ratio is undergeared. I was expecting to feel my bike underpowered but it felt ok, didnt feel underpowered at all. I guess because phantom has very good low end torque. But I get better top end. I can easily cruise at 120km/hr. :)

did u do any mods to ur front sprocket cover? cux i use the same gearing as u... but wen installed, the chain actually rubs against the inside of d sprocket cover.. d shop uncle had to cut away part of the cover to give space to d chain.. i suggest u check urs soon.. i worry if ur chain is rubbing d cover...... at 120km/h!

Thanks bro. No the mech didnt do any mods. Hmm, you make an interesting point. Actually I could hear some noise while riding kind of zzzzzz noise. I will open the front sprocket cover and check. Another thing I am worried about is the alignment. The stock front sprocket was fat and the new one is a lot thinner, which means the front sprocket is now a closer to the bike, than stock so wouldn't the alignment get screwed?

Just came back from Ah Boy. You were right. The chain was touching the front sprocket cover. They have replaced the 14T front sprocket with 13T. But now I am hearing a different kind of hissing noise. Its coming in all gears and only while accelerating but when I close the throttle, the noise is gone. God knows what this noise is :(

wahh.. weird eh.. hmm.. try degrease d area under d front sprocket cover, clean d chain n lube it 1st? and check d roller guide? and check d alignment of ur wheel.. make sure both sides of d chain adjuster are equal, remove d chain cover, and check d alignment of ur chain as well... hopefully ur chain wasnt damaged wif d 14t...

Actually the buzzing sound cannot be noticed while sitting upright and riding normally. But if I lean down a bit to the left then I can make out the buzzing sound near the front sprocket, when opening the throttle. When closed no sound

i tink its quite normal.. cux i notice wen i ride beside a concrete wall/barrier on the left side, i tink d sound reflects off it.. and its d noise gets even louder! i tink u jux enjoy ur ride lar.. dun wry too much.. check periodically. as long as u dun notice any physical damage or defects, shud be fine...

we shud enjoy our rides, not wry abt every single squeek and buzzing.. ride safe!

agree! bikes are old, without the 100% proper care, sure will have some buzzing squeaking here and there i guess. but mostly should be fine ;)

Got bike must ride!

hi guys, im facing some problem with my TA200:

Bike can start, but need to throttle. no throttle engine die.

still can move off.

i checked the idling, and adjust- cant go too high.

is it because of the carb tuning or fused or...?? i really need some advise.

Thanks.

sounds like carb tuning.. might be a simple fix like turning the air mixture screw, but to be on d safe side, go to a workshop la.. trustable one like Planet..

Does phantom 200 has a locking mechanism? Like handle bar lock?

turn ur handlebar to d left, and look at the pivot point.. there shud be a keyhole..

Hmm. My bike can be easily.stolen. the handle bar won't lock after taking the key out. Anyone has installed security alarms on their phantoms? Care to share?

If your bike has the side lock mechanism, it means it is really old. Dont worry, the thief wont bother stealing your bike. Thief also got some standard wat

Carb issue.

You will lose up to 30% horsepower and torque if the carburettor is set wrong. Your description sounds like a lean condition. I can detail the steps to diagnose the power issue via PM or I can sort it out in real life in about 5-10 minutes. Take your pick :3

As for performance.... there's LOTs to improve.

Can share info pls? I'm having somewhat the same prob, high revs + vibrations but gear 5 only max out at 50-60..
