curious to how u measure the depreciation. I would suggest changing the gaskets first instead of the overhaul.

change gasket??? i would do that...if the engine is Bleeding through the joints..

On the other hand it seems that if the EO is going out through the exhaust..larmak..this like internal bleeding going out the backside. this one:faint::cry:

Hi, i got some doubts that i hope to get some enlightenment.

It is regarding getting a loan from bike shop, if i get a bike from a private seller, but i do not have enough cash. How much could the bike shop loan me, and do they help me do the insurance, or i had to go find myself again?

givi e21 (2x) + brackets (2x) + installation = $180 from none other than ah boy! of course all brand new... and can be cheaper if you spend enough time haggling the price... :cheeky:

wa can be done like tat? (sry i never see b4) mount very near towards rider ar?

can be done... just mount the bracket in a way so that the boxes would be sticking out to the side as far as possible...

i gt problem with my ta200.. when i hit 30km/h then my handlebar start wobble abit.. i personally dont feel good cos last time not like tt...

I know you have asked questions on loans... sorry I can't help on that...

if you handlebar wobbles when you are holding onto the bar, your wheel bearings, steering cone, steering cone bearings, risers, yoke, wheel alignment, fork alignment all need to be checked. it is VERY abnormal for the phantom to wobble at... 30km/h...

since you have just gotten the bike... I would suggest that you take the bike to a respectable shop to give it a thorough check for any faults in your bike... I would recommend plan** motorcycles at ubi...

don't skimp on repairs... your phantom would be much more enjoyable to ride when it is feeling good

I used to recommend people there but heard from class2 bikers about an ST11 someone sold that is screwed up and ensured its good, it was scary :nono:

ha I understand what you mean... they aren't jack of all trades actually... different kind of bikes service at different places... for them, they are best at generic japanese bikes... I would probably service scooters and exotic europeans elsewhere... :cheeky:

Hi Guys,

Just had my TA200 for almost 2 wks now. I just had my bike serviced today. changed air filter and 4T oil.

Sometime, i can hear explosion sound from my bike exhaust. This happen once in a while, always after letting go of the throttle (after accelerate).

Is this something i should be worried about?

also, how fast can ur phantom go? i reach about 110km/hr on TPE. I think it could probably hit 120km/hr but it's very windy and i'm scared to accelerate more. i'm surprised to see smaller bikes like honda wave and some of those malaysia plate bike goes faster than me .

my f/c is around 34km/l on first reading and 37km/l on 2nd reading.

the explosion sound is called backfire..

relatively common.. can search for it in the forum..

cant say about top speed.. my top speed 110kph only..

ur fc is average..

" Problem 13: My exhaust gives have a loud bang regularly. (Backfire)

Reason: Air fuel mixture too rich or too lean.

Solution: Retune the carb.

"

jevan, u often go 110 to 120kph? hows ur fc? u feel very strong wind when going to 120kph?

i owned a yamaha ss110 (2 stroke bike) before and can go to 120 or even 130kph when i was in msia .

for ta200, when i go above 100kph, the wind is really strong ... is it coz ta200 not aerodynamic.... or is it really windy at TPE?:sian:

The fastest i clocked on my TA150 is abt 130kmh with throttle to spare. if open fully i believe can hit >150kmh.

That's the power the 4 stroker TA200 lacks but at a cost. Higher FC. Power or better FC, can only choose one. not possible to have best of both worlds.

Class 2B - 26/03/2009

Class 2A - 01/06/2010

Class 3 - 10/07/2009

Rides(s)

1) Honda TA150 - 20/04/2009 to 31/08/2014

2) Honda CB400 Ver S - 12/07/2014 to ???

hmmm ahcaibiker, could it be bcoz of TA150 is a 2 stroke?

can i say that a 2 stroke engine bike is twice as powerful as a 4 stroke engine if the cc is the same?

i.e 2 stroke TA150cc would have the power of a 4 stroke 300cc bike

ya, something like that, it takes 2 revolutions of the crankshaft to complete one otto cycle (intake, compression, power and exhaust stroke). while for 2 stroke engine it is 1:1, 4 stroke is 1:2.

Alot of ppl say including mechanics say that TA150 and NSR 150 SP are using the same engine. Is that true?

fuel mixture a little too rich... need to tune it a little bit...

your FC is very good... keep up the good work...

as for speed... ok let me nag for a while... DON'T speed... its just not worth it... especially in singapore... be it about becoming superman, getting your leg crushed into 3 pieces by your flipping bike or getting your license revoked, I have heard and seen enough...

if you want an absolute answer, I will give it to you... my phantom (TA200) when totally stock it can reach a maximum of 145km/h on phantom speedo... actual speed 131km/h... if I use nos it can marginally go faster...

and at what cost?

http://photos.friendster.com/photos/78/20/5760287/1_173910071l.jpg

the moral of the story is, don't speed, and don't push your phantom's limits... I was lucky that I didn't die the moment the piston broke off the conrod...

ride safe!

TPE isn't windy... its just colder than most expressways
