Cud be ur valve. I changed mine to the bridgeport 90 degree valve. Makes pumping easier n i dun lose alot of pressure over long periods.

im wif 3 boxes n weight about 90+ kg.. sumtyms pillions.. pump front-230 rear-240.. i knw its alot, but trust me.. if ur bike is loaded alot like mine, try this.. it works well.. no probs wif grip, even in d wet so far.. if pump ard 200-210, can feel alot of drag frm d tires and handling is bad...

I'm not sure what you guys are saying are according to your tyre specifications. Try not to blow up your tyre by more than +20kPa, you risk shortening the lifespan of the tyre and damaging the tyre more. Stick to the specification Do not challenge the limits too much.

@naim

how much does the bridgeport valves cost you?

iirc it was $60 at unique.

i agree its not manufacturers recommendation to run it higher. i hv been doing this on my previous set for over a year n no probs wif uneven wear or damage. its better than underinflation IMO. basically, my advice is do it at ur own risk. :) jux sharing wat works for me.

personally, i would not use a set for more than 2 years. firstly how does the thread look. if still deep, okay. then check the rubber if it has started to develop cracks. if got cracks, change ASAP. wen i bought my 2nd hand phantom, i jux used the tyres until cracks develop, which was almost a year. if u want peace of mind, jux change F&R lar.

Surely you mean 200 kPa or 29 psi :)

My dunlops were worn to the wear bar on the center thread (rear), but the side was still brand new. I don't corner hard and don't lean much. Ride like an old man. However, I could feel some tire slip occasionally. So brought it in for a tire change to metzler. Cost 107 including chessa oil change and fixing sticky signal and a gear change issue at planet. Tyre change itself was 90.

Got a new pair of Lasertec recently. Can check with you guys on 2 things, as my old front mertz tyre got puncture before so do they replace the inner tube when changing the tyres? Went off while replacing so didn't notice. Hope this is not too silly a question.

2nd thing is tyre written it can take load of 300kg under 260kpa. I assume that is the max tolerance. So is it safe to pump up to 260kpa or else what is the optimum level for good FC? Thanks a bunch!

Ah, thanks. Guess the whole thing just come off. Cheers.

Phantom tires are tubeless. So nothing internally.

Pressure most riders find it best ard 200-220. 260 is way too much.

Currently using Shinko SR609 (front) and SR734 (rear). Fairly ok tires. Well for my usage its good enough. Thing i like about it is its deep threads, could it mean long life span? Shall see in future.

On dry tarmac they are a rather good pair of grippy tyres, altho i ever skidded twice but thats because i over estimated my speed, panicked and pressed my rear too hard. On wet roads i have never skidded nor lock my tyres before as i rode cautiously when wet. However one thing i have to take note of is when cornering at 80km/h when the road surface is wet. Once i ran over a metal cover when cornering, can feel my bike just drift sideways. Lucky never buang, but i guess even the best tyres will skid on wet metal surface.

Noise wise, its rather audible. When carry pillion or when box is heavy the noise is even more pronounced. It doesnt bother me though, i kinda like it instead, cause i know i have a big chunky cushy tire beneath me. Once i pillioned my friend who weighs almost 80kg along Tanah Merah Coast Road where the road condition is like m'sia road, the tyre noise is rather loud. I thought i had a flat tyre. :cheeky:

As for mileage life wise, im still running new on it, with just almost 4000km on it, and threads are still good as new. So cant comment much on this. How about looks? Hmmm I do like its rugged heavy duty look.

Overall, i'm very satisfied with the pair of tyres. Forgot to mention, it came with the bike when i bought the bike. However one must excercise caution not to brake excessively hard (I mean really hard) with the tyres, you run the risk of skidding and losing control. For someone like me who prefer to ride an easy, relax, take it slowly (everyday i ride an average of 85km/h) style, this tyre is the one. Its good enough for everyday use with a little caution to the brakes and speed. Best of all, it doesnt break your bank. :)

hello there guys, my tires r due for a change, any advice on getting a new set? I've gone thru the reviews, most are preferring metz and continental wild fire. I want them to last atleast a year. pls advice. thanks in advance.

Metzeler is good. Recommended. Lifespan depends on ur usage. For my case definately could last more than 1 year.

Change my rear today at planet Metzeler $90.

Too bad it dun come with L-shape valve

metzeler are good all rounder tires... I been using it ever since 3 years ago..

the L shape valve normally comes when you are using TA150 rim.. Its better also as there are lesser bearings. maintainance better too!!!
