Does Phantom encounter skidding and/or fishtailing easily? I really do not wish to add to the statistics should I self-skid

yes, Phantom does tend to fish tail. but can be prevented one la. this evening i was traveling abt 90kmh abt 100m away from traffic light, when light turn amber, i actually wanted to chiong thru but saw got beat red light camera. so i brake hard and i fish tail a little... heng, managed to control the fish tail. road was dry but when rear brake applied with sufficient force still can fish tail. btw, i'm using stock IRC rear tire:slapforehead:gonna change it soon...

most bikes tend to skid during rainy weather and hard braking.

I understand. But dis the tendency of the Phantom to skid more than other bikes? If so, I think the bike wouldn't be very suitable for new riders such as me :(

Class 2B

FW TA200

Safety above all

If youre considering something with a smaller tyre, i think the tendency is higher. Skidding was for my first two months. Never kissed the road because of it though.

hi PKs.. would the skidding problem stop if the tyres where to be changed?

reduced and is the first step you should take against old and worn off tyres. Personally, yes with added anticipation and understanding of your ride.

the few phantom tyres available are all made with hard compounds... changing the tyres will only bring a marginal difference... like hydher said, just replace your tyres when it is worn or that it is too old...
