Any type or brand of tyres best for wet weather riding for TA200? Felt that braking effect is quite bad on wet roads for my bike so maybe better tyres may help.

By the way my tyres are quite new as i changed them not too long after i bought the bike.

hi, i've just got my phantom and on the 1st day while riding home, im not sure if i step on my rear break w/t noticing, but my back wheel "drifted" one side, luckily the traffic was slow n i manage to continue going w/t any accident. On the 2nd day, im alrdy on the expressway... it was a rainy day and when im traveling at abt 60km or a lil more... i can feel like my bike is actually "skiing" on the road a lil when i move a little... scare the shyt out of me till hold the handle tightly n dun dare move too much as a huge truck is behind me.... im not sure if my tire is stock or wad, it doesnt seem like it needs any change yet... may i know if it's normal?

ta200 is well known for fish tailing.. But for myself, did't experience any fish tailing for now.. You could take sometime to get to know your bike better. (brakes)

or you could change to a better tires;-)

Hi everyone, can I just check how frequent do you guys change tyres on average?

I bought my bike in April this year, and have since clocked about 8500 km. A few wks back, my bike skidded on a wet rainy afternoon. It was then that I checked my tyres for the first time, and realised that my flower on my rear wheel is nearly gone.

Anyway, I went back to the mechanic today, and the arrogant saleswoman quoted me $90 - $95. Looking at the posts you guys made, I am clearly over-quoted. Luckily, I hv not accepted the quote. U guys can tell me the name and location of your mechanic, so that I can go over?

And there is one more thing. The COE of my bike expires in Aug'10. I hv not decided whether to renew. Anyone can share his opinion on whether i should change the tyre? Or tahan until Aug, then change bike?

Thanks!

the answers as to whether to keep the bike is in you .You get ten dollars for scraping. For tyres, you got yourself a fair deal. Get it changed.. better if in a pair. Dont save on this stuff. :thumb: If she's arrogant, go to planet motors at ubi or hkl at bukit merah. good deals there.

Look for a 2nd hand tire with good enough threads, not too old (~3yrs) and with no punctures (planet might have)

Got myself a Metzeler Lasertec at Planet last month. I feel way more confident on the roads right now. However, just a quick question, what are your pressure values for the Metz for front and rear? The last I checked it was about 250(front)/220(rear) as per what Ah Chong pumped for me.
