If cost is NOT an issue, then the best 2 stroke oil would have to be those that have castor oil. Maxima K2 is also O.K though this is NOT with castor oil as base and is premix only.

 

The only one in the poll listed is Maxima 927 castor while there is another from Castrol called A747 which is not found in the poll list.

 

But in using 2T oil with castor you must know how to 'mix' the oil with the proper ratio to achieve best performance for your bike.

 

All the other 2 stroke oil are only just so so and would not REALLY give that added boost. All things being subjective, you will also have to tune your bike's engine appropriately to be able to 'feel' the differnece between the various brands of 2T oils.

I try Motul & Esso Gold 2T previously now using the Maxima 927 on my SP, for some reason my bike loose power when using Motul and now Maxima quite easily go for pickup but not top speed.

Some information on the Maxima 2T available in Singapore. Castor 927 is the best selling 2T. Rumour has it that it is 'addictive' peeh peeh peeeeh

sorry newbie here. just want to know, whats the difference between fully synthetic and semi synthetic? i have been using the shell 2t for my kr. just got my bike for around 3 weeks.

Synthetic means man-made oil. Better coz does not evaporate as much as natural oil from crude oil. Also does not leaves residue when it burns. Downside is it is very expensive.

 

Semi-synthetic on the other hand is mixed oil from natural and man-made at about 70% natural 30% man-made. Provide same effectiveness as fully synthetic and mainly to reduce the cost.

heard that castrol r2 not good to use for prolonged periods of time. maybe 1 in every 4 bottles?
