Can asked your questions and wanna know the "I don't know" stuff at the non-Vtec thread...all S4 basically the same when it comes to maintenace. Lots of Vtec owner tehre too. You be able to pick up the generic need to know thingy there.

Stupid Hurts!.:giddy:Speed doesn't kill, mistakes does :faint:

BEER!...it's cheaper than fuel now! DRINK!..DON'T RIDE!

Hello Fellow Riders,

I hv a 'funny' question to ask.

Was riding a Phantom for 3 yrs, recently switched to a Super 4 Version S. As usual, i rode like it like a Phantom, changing gears as quickly as i can to gear 6. Meaning, changing gears at abt 3-4k rpm.

Yesterday at a motor shop, someone advice me to change gear 1 at 3-4k rpm, subsequently changes all gears at 5-7k rpm. The way i rode, will built-up much carbon in engine/exhaust system. He then opened my bike throttle (neutral gear) to 12-14k rpm. Much black smoke came out, plus some 'pop pop' sound n many little black bits (he said that's carbon).

He also adviced i should ride till fuel tank is almost emptied (must hv small bottle of fuel in rear box), so all fuel is new when re-filled. I usually ride till fuel pointer touches start of reserved, b4 re-fuelling. It's abt 10 litres at that point n i can ride for 210km. Is that normal for Version S?

Hence, all whom can spent a bit of your time, pls give me your versions of riding style, for my reference. Pls PM me :cheeky: .

Your input is much appreciated  .

He's RIGHT! :cheeky:

Any kind soul to advise me on the following? Thanks much in advance!

Recently, I realized that my super 4's handle bar is not straight and when I was riding, I occasionally felt that the handle bar was shaking (left right left right...) if I were to hold it using just the right hand. But if I hold it using both hands, the shaking is gone. (I just changed the bearings about one week ago)

The question I want to ask is whether the traffic police can charge me because of the fact that my handle bar is not straight? Also, is it okay for me not to change the handle bar? Any safety issues?

Another thing is that I also realize that my bike's back tyre is going "botak" soon at the centre part. I heard TP has the right to stop me and charge me for that if I am riding on a "botak" tyre. Is this true?

Thank you, brothers and sisters for your time!

Anybody know where and how to drain the water inside the fuel tank? Read about water inside tank causing bike unable to move on first gear. I intermittently have this problem when moving off first gear. also can be due to carb nvr clean but just want to do some water cleaning before I clean carb at a bike shop. Thank you

If you like white then just spray flat white without any design. Cos nowadays Stickers are very advance, you want anything just paste. Then you dun like just change and no need to respray again.

Hi guys,

Just wonder if $700 per month is enough for the installment + insurance + road tax + maintance for a new Super4? I'm 26 and got my 2b for 5 years and i'm down paying 5k for the bike and a loan period of 7 years..

Posted

sounds enough to me.. would be good if you are able to downpay more..

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

700 is like more then enough le ba.. :)

actually gt some factors to determine if 700 is enough or nt

such as petrol, how much u down, hw long u wanna pay e installment - which means the longer u take to pay, the higher the interest,

-----these r some factors tat within ur control if u plan well---------------

hwever, these r some factor which r " no horse to run "

- road tax

- insurance

- maintainence

---------------------------------------------------------------------

ps. i would recommand dun take too long a loan cos no worth it ar..

n guys.. correct mi if im wrong.. :cheeky:

ride safely. cos e feelin of losing some1 impt is painful!
