lol nice..from the video, the rear tyres seems huge..like 130/80 or something? I wonder if we can change to that without modifying the swingarm..hmm..

Just sharing what I found on youtube.. R15 modded to look like R1 haha

[video=youtube;XkZahtSHL-U]

Just wanting to know... is it legal to do such things in Singapore?

Posted

I think there's nothing wrong with modifying cosmetic looks. Change until look like gsxr1000 also no problem cos cc still the same. But if do performance wise tp will kpkb cos you getting performance of a better bike but pay coe of a lower cat..

By the way, I forgotten to quote on my previous reply..

i saw mah motors still have, u can go there have a look

Where is this? What's the price range I should expect? Just need to know the rough estimate to prepare my budget for a second hand r15..

Is it possible to change the whole seat/tail to r125 one? :s

Wearing of a full face and jacket is a safety statement., its not a fashion statement.

An eye for an eye makes the world go blind,

it is then two wrongs to not result in a right.

By right it's not legal.just that they(government) loosen up abit so people think that it's okay.and also just for your inform whenever we change the out look of the stock bike we are suppose to inform the authority.e.g we go change the main colour of our bike from red to black.reason being if anything crime was connected to the bike the police easilier track the bike from inform from LTA.but now peace so they loosen up alot. ;)

Now I'm stuck... should I get the r15, roadwin 125 r, nsr 150sp, rieju rs2 125, aprilla rs2? Anyone can give me your views?

Some things to take note...

1) Budget.

What's your budget? Under 10k? Above 10k? Above 15k?

2) Class 2A.

Will I proceed on to take class 2A license after a year? So does buying a first-hand bike @ a high price, is good for my finances?

3) Reason.

Am I going to use the bike for daily purpose? Am I going to use for solely on the track only?

4) Background Information.

Have I read enough about the similarities/differences amongst all the bikes before I take out the money to buy?

Good luck!

2) Definitely can't take 2A cause gonna grad from poly early next year and waiting for ns... X(

3) Daily purpose and track

4) Yes I have read enough but can't decide cause all of them have their own advantages and disadvantages....

Hmm with the budget, I guess you can strike off R125, Rieju, Roadwin and Aprilla frm the list..that leaves you with R15 & Nsr..I would say you can save a lot if you get a 2nd/3rd hand NSR, instead of a 1st hand R15..if in luck, maybe can get a 2nd hand one..Well, I've not ridden a NSR before, thus I can't compare it with R15..As for R15, it has low maintainence..growing popularity, good fuel consumption @ 40 km/litre..easily modifiable..so yeah..good luck..!

Hi Bros,

What are things/components i have to replace during the 2nd service? I am going to clock 2000KM soon. During 1st service, the mechanic told me that, for 1st service i dont have to change the oil filter and just changing the engine oil will do. So for the 2nd service should i change the oil filer and plug ? Also what engine oil you guys are using ? Any recommendation? Rite now i m using Shell 4t Ultra.. cost me 20 bucks.

For 2nd service @ 2k, I'd recommend changing EO and Oil Filter. If you're using mineral oil, perhaps can consider changing to semi-synthetic or full-synthetic. I'm using Motul 300v,10w/50 (full syn). Engine sounds smoother and less "grating" sound. Costs me $28 @ Unique Motosports, Ubi Branch. You don't have to change spark plug yet, can change during 5k service. :)

Thanks for the quick reply. 1st service it self, i start using fully-synthetic. I hate mineral oil.. sounds like diesel engine haha :p Do you use the engine oil treatment ? Any idea if the oil filter is same as Fz150?

Lol yup diesel engine..but in actual fact, should stick to mineral for minimum 1000-2000km to let the pistons be seasoned or something like that le, more for the long run ba.. :) anyway, I never use engine oil treatment..never heard of it actually.. lol.. yup, the oil filter is the same I believe.. That time I bought the oil filter from the Yamaha supplier near Mustaffa Centre there, they said its the same.. :)
