Just went to ubi and found there is a new paint shop over there called Paint Extreme. Did a paint job from them and found their price and paint job are reasonable. Just my 2 cents worth.

Where in ubi? Do u hv the contact number? Thx.

Just had my S4 repainted early Oct 2011. Bike shop sent the tank, tail and front fender to Paint Extreme on Thursday. Got back painted parts on Saturday.

Paint quality: 10/10

Service: 10/10

Value for money: 7/10 [7/10 because it's slightly more expensive than other paint shops. Personally for me, I would rate it 10/10 because the workmanship is very good. No need to go back for touch up and etc as other forum members experienced at other shops. (see other posts on this thread)]

Be wary of the source of information for your bike's maintenance. Some FAQs are compiled by people who lack the technical know how.

Thanks!

Please ask Eric to quote. Different prices for 2A/2B/2 bikes, one colour, 2 or more colours and with or without design.

If I'm not mistaken, market rate for my paint job should be $500-$600 I think. I can't state the price because I got it FOC as part of my deal with the bike shop when I bought the bike. Told the salesman i didn't like the stock colour and asked them for FOC re-spray. :)

Anyway, my view is that even if I had to fork out the $500-$600 for my paint job, I'll gladly pay. It's a unique two-tone paint. Everywhere I go, I get compliments from fellow bikers who know how to appreciate good quality paint-work. :thumb:

Edit: Confirmed price is $550. Look up Paint Extreme on Facebook. You'll see my tank on their wall photo (see pic below). There is another S4 tank painted in grey with shiny logo and stripes. Very nice!

hmmm seems that yours is prob not just a 2 tone..... it could be a 3-4 tone paint.... something like chameleon...colour.... got color shifting effects.... if it's like that, think it's pretty worth the price :)

@firestorm_33

isnt your paintjob the same chameleon kind, judging from your pics?

do you know of any other good paintshops so as to offer a variety of options?

thanks.

Sorry for the late reply. Yes, it's multi-tone or they call it "chameleon". Depending on the angle you view it from and source/brightness of light, it can shift from green and blue to purple. The metallic base is quite good too.

So you just left your bike at the paintshop, and they'd remove the parts to be painted at no extra cost?

No. The bike shop I bought my bike from dismantled the tank, fender and tail board and sent the whole lot to them. Then when it's painted, they assembled everything back. I wasn't charged anything because it's part of the deal when I bought the bike.

If I'm not mistaken, I think Paint Extreme may have a deal with my bike shop (M1 Motoring) because I've heard the sales guy from M1 quote roughly the same prices to other riders when they asked about paint jobs.

Anyway, when I was at Paint Extreme, I saw an R1 in the shop sans tank, fender and tail board. So I believe they do provide that service too without extra cost. Best to just call them and ask.

Thanks. I forgot u had mentioned you bought the bike after requesting for the colour/paintjob. So the bike wasnt brought to the paintshop by your good self. My bad.

I will check with Paint Extreme once my plans are more firmed up.

Thanks again.

Brig ur bike down in person. Speak to Eric and let him advise and quote. He was initially hesitant to do mine cos he didnt want me to waste money only to return to say paint cracked or chipped on its own cos mine is plastic. But he examined earlier and said can after i insisted on the makeover. Lucky i insisted.

I left my bike there for 4 days. And eric updated me on status regularly as well as for collection.

Cheers.
