wats skimming for? to even out warped discs?
Warped discs can be thrown away or used as an ornament for your room or even as a paperweight!

Discs are skimmed to even out the disc as the brake pads has created "grooves" on your disc..This is due to wear and tear..

Did you not read what testamant wrote? When its worn out you are advised to change the disc..If the disc is still of a usable thickness and the grooves are uneven you can opt to skim it or change to a new one..

normally it is good to change to new one when the disc rotor is uneven

however, if you can't get a new disc rotor (e.g. it is out of production) you can skim the disc rotor first while waiting for a better condition 2nd hand disc rotor to become available

skimming the disc rotor sometimes results in loud squealing noises when the bike stops, but otherwise the bike stops alright. can be embarassing though...

boring rider. with a boring bike.

too old to want to appear interesting anymore.
