During the Japanese Occupation, 3 Singaporeans, Ah Meng, Ah Seng and Ah Beng were caught for smuggling. They were sentenced to death by firing squad.

That night, Ah Meng came up with a plan. He told the others that the Japanese were afraid of natural disasters. So he would cause them to panic, and escape in the confusion.

The next morning, Ah Meng was led to the wall. The firing squad was lined up and the Captain commanded, "Ready.. Aim..", but before he could complete, Ah Meng shouted, " Earthquake!! Earthquake!" The Japanese soldiers panicked and Ah Meng made his escape.

Later, the soldiers took Ah Seng out and the firing squad were ready. The captain commanded, "Ready... Aim..." This time Ah Seng shouted. " Flood! Flood!!" Again, the Japanese soldiers panicked and this time, Ah Seng made his escape.

Observing all this, Ah Beng began to get the idea. "It's important to get the timing right."

Soon, it was Ah Beng's turn. "Timing, that's the key.." Ah Beng kept saying to himself. The soldiers lined up in front of him. The captain started, "Ready..."

"Timing," Ah Beng thought to himself

"Aim..."

"Okay," thought Ah Beng, and shouted, " FIRE!!! FIRE!!!

Guys,

I'm thinking of organizing a first-time meetup for GSR owners. So far I only know 2 riders and have just contacted the 3rd one.

It'll be great to have a meetup, especially for the 400s as a lot of us, including myself, are curious to see possibly the world's first 400cc EFI bike.

It'll be also great for those interested to get GSR to have a look and feel before deciding.

I'm thinking of meeting up this Saturday (tomorrow lah) ard afternoon time. Say 5-6pm.

I'm open to venue suggestions.

For me, its Blk 413 Clementi Central just across the interchange:

http://www.streetdirectory.com/asia_travel...level=6?116,416

There's a nice eating place. The pavement in front can be used to park bikes for a while or we can always go to the carpark behind.

Okie guys,

I'll be at the place mentioned above later at around 3pm coz need to run some errands.

If anyone wants to meet up, SMS or ring me at 9-4-3-7-6-9-6-4

I'll be there until 3:30pm if no one else wanna meet up.

So, if wanna meet up, ring me up.

Just in case you guys dont know, the big 3 storey shop along Serangoon Road is Mah Pte Ltd, not Mah Motor. Mah Motor is another motordiam.

Also, just FYI, the slipper clutch is not to eliminate engine braking completely. It allows a certain degree of engine braking, but when the rear wheel is driving the engine too hard, the clutch will disengage by rolling back on the ramps. No offence to anyone, just something good to know... :cheeky:

Believe nothing you hear; and only half of what you see.

Do or do not; there is no 'try'.

GSR400 is about $1500 more ex than a S4 vtec3. meaning to say everything included, total cost will b about this much. but then weight is heavier than S4 abt 10kg, dunno how will it perform... but believe to have good performance due to its EFI fuel injection.

hope to c this bike on the road!!!

cheers...

Yes you are right!

and in earlier posts, someone mentioned the K4600 has slipper clutch?

no way, i know cos i owned 1 b4. downshift at high revs and your rear starts slidding all over the place.

and from my guess, street bikes will never have slipper clutches. even if it has, it beats the purpose, you would probably never have the chance to use it or feel it in your entire riding career unless you bring it down the track and push it test its limit.

GSR is not the world 1st efi 400cc.. burgman 400 also efi & is in the market for years liao

Not to mention the current ducati monster 400 is also efi.....read in recent bike mags the jap bikes seem to have some performance problem with their efi, notably Yam fazer, whereas the continental bikes (like duc) using marelli efi seem to be getting better reviews....but overall it does seem efi is not necessarily always better...

btw, i saw the GSR400....looks extremely huge next to CD400Spec3. And its a lot heavier too....CB400 is doing 50+hp, hope the GSR is producing 60+hp to compensate for the weight....

current 400cc Monster?

If I am not mistaken, from 2005 onwards, the smallest Ducati Monster is 620cc

This was upped to 695cc in 2006.

If thinking of buying new, there are no more Class 2A Monsters... Only Class 2

The Monster 400 is a Japan-only model AFAIK. So the claims of the smallest Monster being 695 is only for the Caucasian world!

The sales guy at Mah mentioned that the GSR 400 model does not have EFI, just the normal carb.

That's impossible bro. For one thing when it's a new model, the company is not going to make a carb version as well as an EFI. Secondly, when I went to Loois, I got the Suzuki brochure and it says clearly that there is EFI on the 398cc bike.

All the literature I've read on the Internet about the bike says its EFI.

Never trust every word any mech says about a bike until you've tried it urself.

Once I met a mech who told me TL1000S uses carb.

U know why so many S4? S4 not a problem bike. Cos save petrol, save maintenance and just change some wear and tear. If u take good care for the engine and change engine oil every time, in 10 year u oso no need to open the engine.

Hi All

I'm actually seriously considering gettting the GSR400....was hoping there will be some real reviews here...but since dun have, i fell back to reading GSR600 reviews....main problem seems to be poor EFI.....

as far as there being many super 4s around, well, before GSR400 came out there is very few 400cc bikes available to buy, the 400 sportbikes (RVF, CBR, ZXR, etc) have all stopped production. Basically left super 4 as the only "economic" mainstream bike (duc 400 cost $5k more and less power)....am hoping GSR400 will give some competition....just $2k more but more presence and power....

a little more on the GSR400, the rear tyres are 180 sections compared to 160s on S4 and although mah couldn't give me power specs, it will certainly be more powerful than s4.....and that rear tail is just sooooo nice.....how to get under seat exhaust (like R1) on a 400cc bike? and physically the GSR400 is exactly the same as the 600....so u can't tell the difference other than the colour of the bike...

if anyone out there has the GSR, pls post some review soon!! Thanks!!

I dunno about poor EFI.

But I must say the stock mapping for my GSR is rather off a bit.

The throttling is a bit uneven.

Nothing that a remap and dyno wouldn;'t help. Just not this month yet.

actually why cant compare 2 different classes bikes? in sgp, the classifications of bike is for the ease to control and documentation (or whatever) for the regulating authorities..

or it's only fair that we can only compare a 600cc bike to a 1400cc bike because both are cl2 bikes, which are 800cc different? but we cant compare a mere different of 200c bikes.... gosh....

we compare bike because they are different in characterists, "look n feel", handlings, features, and so on...

come on man... open up...

It can't be more powerful, because the power of 400cc bikes is limited not by technology, but Japan regulations. Therefore all of them have 53HP. The only difference that on a newer bike this power may come at lower RPMs, giving the _feel_ that it is more powerful
