Would it be advisable to get a 2nd hand r1 09 from a shop or a 1st hand instead?

 

I realise its not much of a price difference.

 

Have not bought a 2nd hands sportsbike before. Anyone had bad experience?

Hola mola! i miss my R1 even tho i sold it last week. R1 is the best bike other than fire burning on the dance floor LOL wth. just need to well maintain the bike and she will love u and fly with u 300kph with peace in mind wakakaka. cheers. Hey, have you guys heard of this coolant called 'Water Wetter' by Redline Synthetic Oil brand?

 

I've read reviews of bikers living in similar weather and temperature conditions as here, such as Miami, Las Vegas, Middle East - and say that it's the best coolant for the conditions, as it is not an antifreeze, because the weather here will never LET the liquid in our radiators/cooling system freeze up - So they're saying it's better than Engine Ice and Maxima cool-aid.

 

Anyone ever try it? - It's a simple additive that you mix along with distilled water - People say its cooler than engine ice by about 10-15 degrees (Fahrenheit)

 

Anyone know where to get it?

yup im using it..my view on the water wetter is better den the engine ice i used currently....my views lah...i got it at HKL.

HKL? Nice! Are you using the pre-mix version or you bought the 'concentrated' additive? How much was one bottle roughly, and how much would you need to puchase?

how much did u get ur r1 for? top up 5-6k can get a 848evo. :x

 

i bought my r1 quite cheap lah. 08 model. chge ownership, 3 mths installment and insurance. owner quit riding liao. so he gif me just like dat. i took it wen mileage was 4k if i m nt wrong.. jus 6 mths riding it. wanted to get a new first hand r1 09 or 2010. but with all cost in costing ard 30+k. u can try ask ard. if i m nt wrong ah. tink the price will increase.

yup heard abt it too.. wanted to chge to it at hl cycle but they no more stock. my coolant was damn low dat time. so no choice use engine ice. to me no diff. nvm nxt mth chge water wetter. or they say the mXIMA ONE ALSO GD.. tc bros. ride safely..

when i bought mine was under seat.. T3 carpark cannot get thru... tat time was the FAT IU

den change to the front... den awhile later spoilt... now is slim one but still i put in front..

the watt of the bulb is too "weak" or doesnt match. Get your oiginl bulb and get another aftermarket one that match the voltage and the watt. Hope it helps

how can u compare the 600cc bikes accessories against a 1000cc bike? of course the businessmen here would take a opportunity to increase the prices of the more popular models as the demand is greater than other models

 

yes there is a so call "design fault" with the R1's clutch casing but it was design purposely that way by the yamaha engineers. The actual reason or purpose is actually i have forgotten about that so someone got to read it up and explain here :lol: the engine mouth being protruding out is to allow the mechanics to be able to pour the engine oil in easier and more convenient compare to the rest

 

the footrest being brittle???? well yamaha's beliefs since 1998 was that lighter is better and thus almost everything about the R1 is fragile and breaks easily and slowly this belief was pass down and spread to other brands and currently, almost all makes and models of bikes are fragile :lol:

 

this is true. yamaha R1 parts are so light, brittle and compact which are meant to run.

but bad side is crash/fall = pocket gg.
