The sudden dip in the rpm when throttling is usually due to lean fuel mixture. When you change to aftermarket air filter and Y-pipe, it is advisable to remap your ECU or Dyno re-tune using PC3.

Ok thanks, is using PC3 the way out? Cause i've trying not to use it as i have no plans to travel up to Malaysia or even JB. And may be under utilise. And as far as i know, the stock ECU can't be set or remap.

is there any modifiction for electrical stuffs for your bike, be it by yourself or the previous owner?

Only install alarm system that's all, i don't think this will affect the throttling system. i'm the first owner as stated. I've heard from a frd that he also encounter similar problem and still not solve till today.

Sometime i just wondering maybe it's the manufacturing system fault and inorder not to alarm other R107/08 user and they just tackle this problem when you personally approach HL instead of a recall of all affected bike. If under warranty of course they will solve the issue temporary and once warranty over, the issue comes back again then we have no alternative but to go back to them. Moreover going back to agent will surely charge higher then any other motortiam and no gurantee will fixed the problem. Bro wad u mean unstable?

At neutral de idling keep going up n down? By alot?

If little bit only nvm 1 la .

it happens at neutral but it also happens when i clutch in at whatever gear...it keeps moving between 1k rpm to 1.5k rpm...den everything it drops, the bike will vibrate quite badly...and can hear the sound keep on up-down-up-down..

Previous owner got pc3 don mean he got go dyne ma

Maybe he brought it second hand then he just plug n play?

When was the last time you synchronize your throttle bodies?

erm...what you u mean syncronize the throttle bodies? how much does it cost? i just bought the bike less than a month....

Based on what you described earlier, you are experiencing a flat spot and initial rpm.

If you do not want to install PC3, then you can increase the Idle CO2 setting to make the bottom end mixture a bit richer.

Before you adjust anything, I would recommend you to revert everything back to stock to see if problem is still there. If yes, there is an underlying issue that needs to be addressed. (eg: check and calibrate TPS)

For 4 cylinder engine, there are 4 individual throttle bodies. the air flow setting has to be balanced to achieve a stable idle. The process of equalizing the air flow among the 4 throttle bodies is called synchronizing and it can be done using a vacuum balancing tool. It should not cost more than $50 to get this done.

Hi Guys,

I've been riding my R1 07 since new till today and i think this problem keep coming back over and over again eventhough i visited many motortiam. I'm not sure whether all the mechanic got no skills or they don't dare to commit and give all sorts of unrelated reasons and end up charge me a norminal fee without the problem permently fix. I really need some advise which motortiam to recommand or should i go back to hong leong to diagnose this problem.

Problem affected

-Fuel flow hasn't been smooth especially at the initial trottling stage regarding 1 to 6 gear shift.

1.at about half a mm(approx.1/2mm) of turn on the throttle i could the see rpm rev up(1400rpm)

2.the next half mm of turn(approx.1mm) the rpm drop to the usual idling level.(1100rpm)

3.Continue to turn more and the trottle respond as per normal.

(The above motion is continous without closing the throttle.)

I know it's the ridable but it's unhealthy for the engine. I always could feel there a knocking sound for every throttle turn because of the up and down rpm movement..Anyone encounter the issue too? Any advise for the issue?

Does this happen when the bike is stationary(neutral) or moving?
