Hello everyone!

I'm New to Yamaha R1'09,been riding Suzuki thru-out ..just wanna say hi..

Dunno if this question been asked b4..check with you guys ..are all the R1 that HOT?i mean the heat coming from the side which is roasting my legs and the exhaust BBQing my butt.Especially the Original Bazuka exhaust...OMG..

any tips to reduce the heat?

bro relax , no need to get too excited la . HOT ? u mean your legs ? If you wear bermudas or short pants of cos you will feel the heat cos its near the engine .

its puig carbon "LOOK" hugger.. u can get it at regina for $160-$190.. I would reccommend get those real carbon hugger which cost almost the same.. Owned the puig hugger b4.. the carbon look paint will go after sometime..

Guys I have got a query here to ask abt my R1 06 model. Hopefully fellow R1 bros can help me out in dis... Went to 2nd link earlier for a petrol run. Blast e bike abt 240km/h thereafter when I stop at GP for a refill session, my bike was in neutral gear I could hear a metal kinda sound... Its something like to metal pieces knocking onto each other. Den again the noise will get louder n louder only if I open throttle at about 2000 to 3000rpm above then dat there sound can't be heard. I then rode back to singapore at a very slow speed of 100 to 120km/h. The surprising thing is dat when I reach my hse car park the sound totally wasn't there anymore. At my car park I tried to on n off e bike almost abt 7 to 8 times and the sound wasn't there at all.

 

Base on u fellow riders experience what do u guys think is the prob... Or does it has smthing to do with the 7th month festival.... Dun mind me but Im kinda confused was thinking of pushing the bike to work shop to have it check. ????

It's normal lah but I don't know what is it. Is it like a clock tick-tocking sound? If it is, to me it's normal cos I think other bikes also have this sound when it's hot after ride but I am not sure about sound getting louder when open throttle.

Any here been to hkl or raceweks for dyno jet? What exactly is dyno jet? Is it for bike tuning? Anyone knows how much is the damage?

Bro... For R1s, its Dyno tune where ur bike is set on a few Dyno runs to tune the bike. The Dyno runs have to be accompanied with installing a Power Commander to piggy back ur original ECU in order to overwrite the settings. Price wise, each shop charges differently and the Power commander costs differently for different bikes and there the PCIII and PCV series differs in price too... best if u call up the shop and explain ur bike to them. Dyno jets are for bikes using carburettors.. I may not be 100% right in the explainations but I am sure the more experienced guys like Bro Lo-on and Bro Max-bg can correct me if I make a mistake. Just my 63 cents worth....

If the sound come again go down bikeshop and check, i think is the magnetic coil there,the magnets "peeled off".

Btw bro, is it legal to fix our headlight with rings as shown in the pic below? can the small pole light colour be changed ? thinking of getting red pole light with hid white headlights and those red ring type circles around it.

Did you change your clutch springs to the aftermarket ones?something like this happen to my previous bike b4.Although i did not have any problem riding it throughout... then one day i wanted to change my clutch plates and found that 2-3of my clutch springs kinda ''shattered''into a few pieces..

The metal sound is an on and off thingy right?ermm...go check your springs on yr next oil change just to make sure loh..you'll only need to spend additional gasket if nothing's wrong.

I think you'll have to tint your headlights as well..those are angel eyes if i'm not wrong ...bro do you ride to malaysia?at night?short trip ?pump petrol?Legal or not ah if you ask me ah ..i say swee la..really i see liao i also..wow! but safety wise..don't la bro..dangerous la...

So once its ready it shld be fine rady to take off. Thx bros.... We shld haf a meet up soon guys...

kaoz...so serious ah?wah i think not cheap ba valve clearance ...need to down engine right if i'm not wrong?whew..

You can get your valve clearance done at $200 range at Bikeworkz... They do not down engine.. other shops like bikelab do take out your engine and do thorough checks. but its costly.. About 500.
