Its ok Jon... Take your time. I also busy with work.

guy, since changing to BF. i noticed that my comsumption getting bad, it normal or ?? becoz my friend, he get and mprovement milleage..

It shouldn't be. Either your FC maintain or improve. Mine improved. Have you checked for any leaks near the flange area where you bolt your can to your headers?

small exhaust leakage does"n cause fc too high ,so far all stock pipe upgrade to aft market endcan wil cos fc abit high...maybe yr A/F mixture incorrect if fc high plus no power..

Maybe send your carb for balancing first. It might do the trick.

Hi,

Do i need to get a Power commander and tune the bike if I want to install the BlueFlame on a REVO?

Please advise.

Thanks.

Install your BlueFlame first. Ride it and feel the difference.

- Better performance or not?

- Fuel Consumption change by a lot (improve or worsen drastically).

- Do you smell strong petrol fumes from your exhaust?

- Have you change to aftermarket performance high flow air filter?

- Have you done throttle body synchro/balancing?

If for pointers 1-3 is negative answers, opt for pointer 4. Do get yourself an aftermarket performance high flow air filter. You will definitely see a lot of improvements. I personally would recommend PiperCross air filter. Do check the Air Filter thread for my post on where to get the PiperCross. If results stil not satisfactory for you, go to pointer 5.

If all else fail, then get your Power Commander.

Hi Bro,

Thanks for the advise. But then is it advisable/recommended to get a PC since there is a risk of so many problems as stated by you.

I'm not riding REVO. What was mentioned above are common issues that usually occur when you change to a more freeflow exhaust.

Getting yourself an aftermarket air filter is a good performance upgrade as well as save you money in the long run by cleaning it. It also helps your bike to breathe in better as now you have higher flow of exhaust gas, you also need to increase your airflow of your intake air.

Throttle body or carburettor synchro/balancing are some of the normal maintenance that you do for your bike after a certain milage. Why you need to do synchro/balancing is to compensate for the higher flow of intake and exhaust air. So there is a need to synchro/balance the fuel system.

These are some of the basics of modding your bike that does not create a catastrophic impact and seldom will go wrong. It is also some of the simple fine tuning to be done to achieve desired results. Your bike has been design in such a way that for normal street riding, it is not necessary to adjust the air/fuel ratio.

2 more questions:

1) So if i put aftermarket air filter i also need to tune the bike right?

Normally bike shop do the tuning with installation?

2) Which bike shop can do a proper synchro/balancing tuning? how much is it roughly?

Please advise.
