in case of server overheat, it will realease the excess pressure build up by the boiling water. Something like a pressure cooker release valve. Also, it is a direct way to top up coolant into the radiator after flushing or if the coolant level drops too much.

:thumb: great steps. From the title I thought you DIYed your VTEC to fit onto a non VTEC S4 (Ver S, P Big1, etc..) hahah

erm..

i think yr explaination for the radiator cap abit wrong..

the cap is to keep the pressure in the radiator high so that the boiling point of the coolant will increase.. the coolant will not do any gd in transfering of the heat from the engine to the radiator then to the surrounding when it is in vapour form. that y some old bike hav higher operating temp due to the faulty radiator cap..

sorry to go :offtopic:

actually yanuk's explanation is correct. if it was merely to raise the pressure in the radiator then any kinda screw-type cap will do. but the radiator cap has a safety valve; in the event of overheating, pressure buildup caused by expanding gases will never exceed a certain point. Thank you radiator cap for keeping my bike safe!!!

step to diy vtec indicator

parts required

1. 1 x LED

2. 1 x 220ohm resistor

3. thin wires either all red or all black or red n black

steps to doing it

1. led comes with one longer leg and one shorter leg

2. soulder the resistor to the longer leg, the other end of the resistor to the wire.

3. the shorter led leg also soulder one wire to it

4. u have have the basics to have some indication

5. next opens up your fuel tank by taking out the fuel line and the vaccum tube which are both on the right side. on the left is the fuel level indicator connector, disconnect it. use a size 12 to open the both at the seat. life up abt 45deg and pull back to take ur full tank out.

6. on the left hand side there is this grey connector that is toward the back of the main frame. that is the connector of the vtec.

7. take the wire with the resistor connect it together with the wiring and plug back the connector. then the shorter led wire connect it to any ground ie chassic find some screw and screw it together for best result.

8. you have done your vtec indicator.

9. to test clutch in and rev. the led shld light up.

cheers to diy.

any qns pls come to http://www.singaporebikes.com/forum/index....c=76826&st=1530 for any qns and ans

anyone knows where the speed sensor cable is? where does it go to, i wanna tap frm the speed sensor cable... To my understanding there are 2 or 3 cables, one power, one ground and one speed sensor connected somewhere on the crankshaft...
