for the benefit of white angel.

the stebel horn or after market electric horn. nt our tweety horn.

all require relay.

the relay will be energise to close the "contact" when the cct become a close 1. then it will output to the horn.

thus to energise the relay require less current to close the cct compare to the current goes in straight. it will overall lesser the load of the bike cct.

when u plug the horn in straight by juz replacing the tweety horn. it will still work but the load will cause the cct to be overload. which may result in bike cct fuse blow.

what i have done for my horn include a relay and a fuse. thus if really were to fail, it the fuse will still break before the cct being affected.

ensure u can always go to ur bike shop they will do it up for a fees nt more than $20

hi guys,

for those installed the horns themselves, where did u put the fuse and relay? Will it get wet?

anybody willing to give some pointers on installation onto a S4?

I just want to know if u connected the horn supply wires to the fuse box or just lay the wire from the battery terminal --- fuse holder ----horn?

Another thing, the fuse used is an automotive fuse or just a normal fuse (from shop eg..)?

I have decided to install them myself coz of the $$ :)

Thx in advance

mounting point can be either at the existing horn, or somewhere on the crushbar...

fuse, tap directly outside your +ve battery. IMO that is the safest

also, i use a 15A fuse instead of 10A or 20A. 10A one good if you only light tap the horns. i have blown 2 10A fuse when i heavy horn some SOBs... Althought 20A is recommended by the manufacturer, i still a bit KS and use 15A as my bike is EFI, any short to the main circuit will be super expensive to repair...

as for relay, alot of places to hide, like at the around headlight bracket, below your seat, etc...
