1) mainstand - original ex but which is the best.

I check liao Take how Biketech21 say 250 to 270, at TwistedThrottle website plus shipping is 320 bucks

Accessories that I WANT..hahahah

 

Pls advise on brand and who to get from.

 

1) mainstand - original ex but which is the best.-SW Motech($240)2) Crashbar - want to folow AJ pattern.-Seng Kwang(price gone up to $420)3) skid plate - AJ where leh...i dun want belly pan.(i am using Transalp 400 bashplate(ebay sgp $10)u can try look for and vara1k,vstrom,vara125 or KLE skidplate to mod)

4) handle bar guard - should i change handle bar or with guard only? current handle bar kinda tiring cause i short.(best bet like most of us,AT handlebar ($70)plus riser($70),handguards for me and some,V-strom 05($40)must buy chiong balancer as the stock balancer are not able to fit AT bar

5) windshield - must get proper one..too used to st electronic adjustable somemore, was thinking MRA due to the extra piece but many advise eagle good???(Eagle screen is great,cheap,well used to be cheap.customised your preferance-i bought mine at that time was $122 mass order,now around $160 plus shipping)

6) panneirs and box - SWmotech Trax. Any similar cheaper alternative?SW motech should looks great,be the 1st TDM to fit it.who noes more will follow,but be warned,having panniers that not aerodynamic will make bike wobble at speed around 160-180,Yamaha panniers expensive.

7) Exhaust - I heard got 3 people here got Leo vince!!! Take how come come i wanna hear!!! u also nyuke....(leovinci:cheeky: ,normal $800,carbon $1k)

8) fog lights or extra lights ... this one can slowly

Look for nukye,he recommended and some of us using it.$25 for a pair.looks great,size small and cute.

mine is pure black and bits of silver....even nuts and bolts silver..no blue ones that u see for the brake calipers....for my bike add this and that funny price leh but cause the trade in was good.....meet up la...but first autobikes accessorise........

Start with a TDM with no Hand Guards !

 

Right then, first you need to buy the Suzuki DL650 VStrom Handguard kit (usually 22 UKP from a dealer)

 

Next step below is to get your bar end weights off and machined to these dimensions

Damien,if we can machine our balancer it might slip in the handguards nicely.:thumb:

On the throttle side remove the existing lever pivot bolt and replace with this one from the kit

Then insert it like this (this is a threaded straight swap for the origonal one)

Offer up the handguard securing it with the supplied Screw and Washer at the top

Then fit a supplied locknut and washer on the bottom like this

And clip the other end into the machined groove like this (may need to alter the hydraulic reservoir along the bar slightly to line up) that's the throttle side finished

Right now onto the clutch side, remove the origonal pivot pin then get a 6mm drill and remove the thread from the bottom of the lever pivot hole (this is needed as the suzuki supplied bolt is a set thread

Then insert this lever pin from the kit

Clip the handguard over the top of the stud

And Secure using the dome nut and a washer

There is a spacer that you need to fit on the underside (I also used a washer top and bottom of the plastic handguard) and secure with another locknut (supplied)

Clip the other end into the Bar weight

What do u mean by will not hood onto the original or aftemarket exhaust?

 

If using the original exhaust, it have a small plate that would stop the any mainstands from hitting the pipes..

But if u r using the aftermarket exhaust, the original yamaha mainstand foot "Stick" will hit on the exhaust. U need to bend it a bit but still the mainstand would not go fully up due to the foot stick touching the pipes thus when cornering, ur dreams to become Rossi will come to an end. :faint: :cry:

But i heard the guys here using the SW motech mainstand dun have this problem. But end of the day, i still prefer the yamaha mainstand bcos it easier to park ur bike on mainstand. :thumb:

for almost 3yrs,its....well nevermind...

 

I got the mainstand for free...it comes with the bike since i bought it...so why the notice if it easy to mount it...

 

Plus points when buy 2nd hand bike....:cheeky:

Random ride up to Hatyai this Friday night and then ride down on Monday early morning.

 

Itnerary includes seafood at Songkhlah, slack at the beach, walk walk shop shop for bike parts (Maybe rewrap seat, dunno where though), etc..
