guys, need ur help. probably tis question has been repeated many times. i tot of buyin a tdm 850cc. any comments or major problem w tis bike. is spare parts still avalible? tks so much guys!

i dun have super exp with tdm but my best bet is get FI which is the 900....850 is the carb model...

Can ah. Meet somewhere else in the west then. NUS that place sounds good. Or west coast macs also can. Nice long ride. I feel like going on a short ride out then back leh. Pagoh or something. Otherwise like damn wasted. But dunno how to come back. mauahah!

 

Ok so 10pm at NUS Fong Seng there? Park across the road la like that. That area confirm no space one. I'll leave prob around 1130pm to wave the Kruzers off. They pushing off from Tuas Shell around 1145pm

yup...i could agree with k.g.

 

once you pop on a FI TDM9,riding a TDM850 is a different thing..

 

alot of difference.weight,geometry,smoothness,torque...

 

parts i not sure...I dont think you can get parts from auto machinery or Hong Leong becoz i believed its parallel import.

 

but if you insist,you can PM barracuda..he will be the best man to give you the infos...:thumb:

haha...i also considering the 850....but after some research...the 850 engine is bulletproof...but the trade off is the older design looks, 5speed gear instead of the newer 6speed(if chk read wrongly), card instead of FI...and if you are talking abt the same bike sold in sbf that i am eyeing...i think it's abit over price for a 1998 (10yr bike)...but these are juz my personal point of view...dun flame me...:cheeky:

 

anyway initially i am waiting for the DL650 which seems have the long wait...but after kish_garfield got the bike and did some research..think now i am looking at both TDM and DL650 bah... btw juz to chk with the gurus here...is the insurance btw the both bike alot as one is 900cc and the other 650??or does either of the brand matters for the insurance prenium??

i nv rode a v strom but rode a big with that engine...TLR...definitely v strom should be more powerful than tdm but its defitely more vibey.....plus and minus bro

ok i got an idea....what about Fong Seng Nasi Lemak...if parking is hard outside the makan area,we just parked opposite of the road...if worry about parking area,we go kopi at West COast Mac D.parking space sure very big...

TDM insurance all depends on age factor and also bike made factor...

 

for me,well..i only 21yrs...:faint:

 

ok on serious note,1977

 

bough the bike FW plater.age when i bought it was 2 yrs 9mths.

1st time i renew 2nd party ins with road tax about $800.

2nd time renewal which is last march,insurance $520,road tax $140...or $130...

My XR650R,same yr manufactured.FW plater,insurance 2nd party is $498...wahpiang!!

 

It all boils down to different preferences on bike choice and what you want to do with the bike...that's why we have all types of bike and categories of bikes to cater different type of riders all around.

but if you're the type see what people ride must also try,then when have the bike,itchy to buy a different bike becoz people are into this other sort of bike....so my advice,buy 2nd hand...so at least if you just want to test test,you won't loose much,unless you're good at marketing your advertisement and make profit out of nothing spend on the bike within just 1month of owning it...then you are a pro.

 

as for me,it all comes to the pocket.and i dont like riding bike that most people are simply dying to ride and which you can hear so much about the bike from the words of mouth.even people with no bike license also know about the bike bcoz they see on Teebee or always see it at orchard road.

Again,pocket matters most.If i suddenly can't afford,at least i could break even when i sell the bike or at least lose a minimal amount of money so i won't have to go suffering for the next 6months trying to settle outstanding even after selling at a big lost.

 

Ride easy that is.

Good one. That's why I sold my sporty off after much heart wrenching fights with pocket vs heart. But I like to simply ride and the TDM would definitely give a more comfortable ride than the Sporster along the NSH so....

 

At times still feel sad, but I think of what else I can buy with the extra money then ok already. Like guitar gadgets hur AJ? GAS man. hur hur

 

850 and 900 has it's good and bad la. EFI not necessarily good compared to carb cos carb, anytime anywhere anyone can service, but not saying EFI is bad la. Just stating one point to compare. And if you read TDM threads overseas liek carpe TDM, some riders swear by the 850s.

 

What you should do is really decide what you want and try to test and compare and read as many bikes and reviews as you can. Dun just get a TDM cos this thread and it's riders are cool *puts shades on* :cheeky:

hahaha....i am using Toneworks by Korg model AX15000G..bought from Damien's drunk buddy for $150 3yrs ago.until today,i only used on one setting haha...moral of my story here,for me playing music is just leisure,so i dont feel the need to buy the latest upbeat supersound effex and knowing my level of standard playing...:cheeky:

If u r from east heading toward AYE Jurong..... exit at Clementi, u will reach the first cross junction....go straight at abt 300 meter u shall see a mini bus interchange on ur left....... SLOW DOWN!!! the low shop house on the left that is where we r meeting up.

Lucky you don't have so many hobbies. Ppl like me, every month money in is split like 1000 ways cos of my many interest. So now cutting back but biking and music still there la. Lucky I have most of my guitar gears so no need to buy anymore. But laptop gears....don't want to think.

 

Ok la. Basically it's 10pm at Fong Seng or whatever that place is called. Not too late cos I wanna leave around 1115-1130pm. But you all can stay la. I think to Pagoh and back is a nice night time breeze ride. But I dunno how to come back. wahahah!!!

sigh...went to HL and found out my bike alinment off after i onsite adjust the handle bar cause my hand hurts with the stock position...

about at 14 TDMs at Fong Seng,after which,Takehow,PBS,Virus have to leave to meet kruser gang at GP...then after which Ang,wave125 and gf,Nukyeman,Hafiz,firestorm,and Mr Boon make way home while me,Damien de butcher,Ansmania and Din BtwoB headed to GP.

meet Takehow,virus and PBS and chit chat for awhile.They continue for short ride while me and gf headed home since the gf got some wedding assignment in few hours time.:dozed:

 

got a little drama at the GP custom...he can't locate the stamp on my gf passport for the coming in time...causing at least 10bikes on a standstill...me very pissed.:mad: he ask to park 1 side after about 5mins or maybe 10 after still not able to find the stamp.he asked another officer to take alook at my gf passport.less than 30secs,the officer find the stamp on my gf passport and showed to the previous kotek who has glasses on.feel like knocking his head.:sian:

he apologised to me,but i told him dont apologised to me,go apologise to the rest of the motorist....so i guess he will have to stamp,and saying sorry to all of them...:faint:

 

Wonder where the rest of the dude went for the short ride..

 

anyways,i will add the photos to the tdm_yahoo.sgp.
