hi ah pek ..dont know tok tok tok or tick tick tick..hahaha..i mean when shift to gear 1 without moving the sound gone..when neutral gear the sound coming until the engine hot.my dealer there say is a housing blok spring lose jor..nothing problem de..dun know got bluff bo..

I think he is referring to the clutch plate housing. No harm going to Ah Fook at AMK Ave 3 Industrial Park 2 #295 and have a second opinion. Listen carefully to what they say. Like what you posted.."housing blok"..clutch housing casing?:sian:

I have tht issue too, just start got the tick tick tick, when the bike warms up the sounds slowly becomes softer and goes away. But sometimes when I riding can hear it too. Sometimes can't.

Hi hi,

I had PM rabbit on the alarm already. He got 3 version to choose. Decision again..... Are you using 1 yourself? Will it be overkill to use alarm since our ride are rather old.... :(

Most of the Ver S i saw on the road are mostly (90%) having Brembo calipers.

Was thinking mine could have be stolen during the ex ownership, hence having the old small black nissin calipers. Rightfully the brembo should be have a better braking power compare to what i am using now.

I had PM kelvin regards to the exhaust. Sad to know, Ver S only have the Yoshi full system to be LTA friendly. Was drooling on the moriwaki initially.

althou our bikes are old, they are still worth protecting coz we buy it with our hard earn $$$.if u think ur bike is not worth protecting den u can ask bike shop to help u remove the ignition switch so that u wont nid key to start ur bike.so its nvr an overkill to protect our rides.to protect it,we have to add on these security systems.best is to get those 2-way alarm with perimeter sensor...

yes most ver.s come stock with a brembo caliper.those vtec 1 an above comes stock with a nissin caliper.maybe u can compare ur nissin with those on spec1 and above.if its the same den i suggest u keep it tat way.coz nissin is not so 'HOT' stuff so u dun haf to worry.and if brembo is much better den that nissin,y would HONDA use it for 4 generations(v-tec1,2,3 and revo) of cb400?

as for the full system, only yoshi uh?hmm since its that way den do it the other way to get the headers and endcan separately lor...anyway the aftmarket header is same as stock, only diff is its 4-1 instead of 4-2-1 and its chromed instead of our black.the part where u join ur endcan is the same 3 screw flange.

Hi,

Thanks for taking time to reply my queries,

Agreed on the parts as something important to me may not be to others.

Most likely going to rabbit place to get it done soon.

I am not saying brembo is better than nissin or vice versa. But currently the nissin i had on my ride is only 2 pot black type. If i am not wrong, brembo for VerS should be 4 pot de. Hence stopping power should will be better. Reason for me to source for the brembo as it will be a direct fit to my fork. If i will to use any others, more cost will be induce to fabricate the bracket le.

I will KIV the exhaust system, but your recommendation is surely a better option unless i manage to get hold a 2nd hand yoshi system.

dear frens,

i am riding a ver s FN plate. just installed a voltmeter recently for precaution as am using a 2nd hand magnet coil.(no monies to buy 1st hand )

qns is:

wat is the avg voltage when just turning on and on the move?

how do i noe if the magnet coil or rectifier is not charging the batt?

many thanks..

Charging voltage reading can be roughly read across the +ve & -ve terminal of the battery or at the solenoid termination (ride hand side cover nside) where the red cable to battery is. Reading should be roughly around 13.5v dc to 14.5v dc. RPM range where reading is gotten is never accurate as the condition of the bike body conductivity varies. But when you gently rev between 1.5k to 5.5k..you ought to get the range. All bikes reading varies across the rpm range depending on electrical load consumption. The ebst is at 14.2v dc to 14.5v dc. If you get a 15v dc..your rectifier is screwed and best have it disconnected from the battery. At 12.8v dc to 13v dc indicates a partially working magneto coil. If you get 12.2v dc to 12.5v dc..prepare for a replacement coil soon.

Always check your battery first and must be in cold norrmal temperature condition. If reading is 125 to 12.8v dc after an overnite parking..likely all things are ok.:sian: If 12.2v dc and knowing ur battery is at elast about a year..that's understandable.

So tat means ur brake caliper is not the same as those on vtec1 and above lah.if tats the case den u shud change it.but its doesnt really matter if u change it to nissin or brembo as its up to ur preference.as for the caliper maybe u can try looking for it at scrapyard.other den dat i cant think of where else to get 2nd hand.unless those bikeshop that has bikes that wanna scrap den have lor.but very rare.

Ya, it totally different from the golden nissin calipers from the Vtec series.

maybe you chance upon a PB or verS you will be able to see how small the calipers i am saying.

Will look around for calipers that able to fit my fork.

Cheers!

Yah..the one you described above is those from the first two generation (1993-1995) PB1 brake caliper..can always changed to Nissin longer type.

Pek,

you mean i am able to upgrade to the new type of the Vtec series calipers? Cos i saw both model of fork are having different mounting points hence meaning if a swap is to carried out, both ride need to have brackets. To make thing worse, both model are having different sizes of rotors too.

Maybe you can advise me how can i go about upgrading my calipers? I am just sourcing for the best option as i understand is not a must have item but i intend to keep my ride for long hence will be good to have a upgrade.

Cheers!

Yes..the caliper mount is different. I am not sure if changing the lower fork section is good enough. I have aset of Version S lower fork that used to have Brembo calipers. Not sure about the rotor disc..what I know is that non Vtec and Vtec ones are not the same fit to the wheel hub bolt sitting.
