Hi all,

Any idea where to get a decent job done for linking up an additional switch to switch off my headlights? Think it's sucking my battery like nobody's business..keke..

And anyone knows the signs and symptoms of a dying rectifier? I want to be prepared, so I can avoid having to push my bike to motodiam..haha..

cheers!

Yes...Metal heart is right..I do those things but mine come as a double..the other being for the radiator fan to be "on" manually. There is no way to tell a rectifier is going bad but thru "resistance" ohmage reading values..you can tell wheather its working or not..that's about it.

Even if your bike fails to start, its not the rectfier...its a new battery or some jump start service you need. Its when the bike can start and engine is firing..then you can tell wheather or not your rectifier is bad...even magneto coil.

Oh..ok. Did you get a proper reading of the magneto coil output?

then hmmm....ah pek ....those normal denso plugs cost how much each .....got normal got iridium ,wat else??

There are many types and the difference are from material made to type of center core design...like most platinum and iridium plugs has a thinner core for more concentrated spark transient. This is because the material are harder to wear and stronger, therefore last longer and can be created that thin. Copper and nickel has larger conducting surfaces and softer such that they wear faster..howwever got less resistance..but Sliver material is the best.

Go visit NGK and Denso web site..you can learn a lot more there. For Nology or Brisk that makes Silver core Spark Plug..got o http://www.nology.com

Just remember that performance wise..all are the same..no addition horsepower or what ****..just smoother or a longer time. For nickel and copper...you can always clean the plugs and bend the earth electrode to the right gauage specs for use with your bike...and save $40. Anyway spark regardless of material type can easily gives you 30K! I ride mine till my engine splutter..then change

Ah Pek, on your previous thread you said bout Nology Silver Spark plug. Are they better than Iridium? How much are they selling anyway? Thanks in advance...Cheers

Better in terms of conductivity and better brighter sparks..YES. This si because Silevr material has lots lower resistance than iridium. In otehr words..better sparks..better combustion..better fc and smoothness...horsepower?..no.

The set I have now on my bike cost me $120. I have ordered 6 set (not sure if its coming in with their next shipment..supposing this month) at only $98. Good when you have old iginition coil and cables and problem with their electrical load.

S4 is one of thee easiest bike I find to push start.. If you can find slope..that's the best. When the bike starts to row and pick up pace..engine key "ON"..clutch in and shift into second gear and release till biting point and throttle abit when you feel the engine kicking "in"..that should kick the engine to fire up.

No slope..if got someone to help..sit on your bike and does the same thing above..but there is a poor guy behind pushing as hard as he can to pick up speed..

Do like I do.."On" engine key..clutch in...shift into second gear..then start walking fast to pick up speed..then release clutch till biting point. If you are lucky..7 to 8 paces will do. If engine splatter (if its real bad)...don't stop..strat runing a bit with clutch 3/4 way out.

All performing the above...please remember to IMMEDIATELY clutch in and rev when the engine starts.

The ebst way..get a fellow rider and a"jump strat" cable. Have save many ppl from towing fee this way so far...yah...even 3:45 am in the morning in Singapore somewhere...:faint:..but ok lah..know I make ppl happy :)

Ty man, this gonna save on the tow fee :cheeky:
