My v.s broke down while riding on the expressway. Was riding on the extreme right lane then suddenly bike lost power had to quickly move to road shoulder. Tried to restart engine but not able to. There seemed to be some sort of leakage on my engine at right side, some brownish liquid stain. Had to let bike to cool before able to restart but after every 2km bike will stop. Had bike towed to my bikeshop. Help!!! i just got my bike about less then a week and experiencing this. What is wrong????!!!!

A week?...didn't the shop u buy from gives u aperiod of warranty? As for the brown stuff...could be epoxy glue from ur CDI...but CDI should still works.

Idling "0"...???...does ur engine runs at all. This has nothing to do with ur carbs needing a retune. Did u try turning ur idling screw up..clockwise upside down.

Guys, my rear brake doesn't seem to brake very well, in fact, it feels like it's not braking at all on the move except that it can hold the bike without rolling back on the slope.

Is the rear brake suppose to be this weak? I went back to ride my phantom i can feel the rear brake very well.

If it's a problem, may i know if there's any recommended shop to get it done in the west? n how much?

Thanks

Its design not to lock ur back wheels like ur phantom...if it does..u will fish tail easily.

Yup still under warranty. I had them towed my bike becuz when i tried riding it bout 2km bike, bike will auto shut down, didn't dare ride it again :(

Before there was slight oil droplet just under my bike side stand area, bit like water plus oil stain

Wanted to change and take another bike but got to compensate so much so i think i'll stick to my vs and mantain it well i guess. Ah Pek you have a shop ah? Maybe i can go there show you my bike then can find out what to change and mantain :)

So im suppose to ignore the issue?

Its like that lah..have to understand that the bike has its weight and wheel base geometry and frame work design including front fork rake angles...at speed of above 80km..can you imagine the charging weight dragging a lock wheel behind. May be in future..S4 will have "Monoshock" where fish tailing will be non existing. I'm surprise that the new Revo does not have it. Anyway..if you do slam hard...the wheel of ur current S4 still locks but it takes great effort..and yah, I fish tail in an emergency b4 from speed of 140 km/hr.

"slight oil droplet just under my bike side stand area"...could be primary shaft drive seal koyak..."2km bike, bike will auto shut down"..likely electrical problem from wiring to rectifier and magneto coil.

Anyway I checked with a mech on the day I got my bike but he also say its normal.. -.- I wonder if I shld change the rear brake..any advise?

"..even with the rear brake on, my bike will still roll back by applying some force"...hmmmm...yah, there is something not right...let the mech test..or it may be u not stepping hard enough and the brake fluid in the reservoir too low and stepping level has 'soften'.

change ur brake line to those steel type to have a better feel of braking? else wear a heavier shoe like safety boots, braking even more easy as it weight quite heavy =p

WTS givi e16 smile box, with led @$20

interested party , do PM me..

thanks! will try it, maybe i will just try putting the nozzle into the assembly and spray. if cannot, then i open up the assembly.

not working. lol my friend said my bulb is dead, so will try changing it ah. anyway thanks for the tip =)

on the note of rear brakes, everybody i know who rides S4 will say that the rear brakes are made like that. except for the revo in BBDC.they have ABS and they can get engaged pretty easily if you have a heavy foot.

As for your rear brake..the sound could be caused by trap brake pad dust acculumated over time and got wet. As for wear and tear..look carefully inbetween the caliper and disc..u be able to see the thickness of the pad (the one just next to ur disc and almost touching). It should be as thick or thicker than the metal plate layer (behind the pad) that is holding the pad. Most brake pad has a "wear marker" made of soft metal which is a small piece of metal stud and it would touch ur disc when u actulate braking creaking a 'scratching' sound..tell-tale sign to change pad.

Go to Teck Thye at 12 Bradell Road..asked for David and that William recommended u. His price may be a bit hi or cheaper..but his quality work is there.
