The previous owner told me that abit oil on the floor is normal. Haven't went bike shop yet as bike laid up now. I change a new parking slot and realise there is also black oil on the floor below engine. What might be the cause?

Then u should have told him that those don't leak is "abnormal"...ha...x3!..he's talking rubbish. Likely your drain bolt may be leaking...oil sump cracked or gear shaft seal worn out.

My PB1 (FN plate) is hard to start. Dies off almost immediately after pushing the starter button. I need to hold the throttle for about 15 - 20 sec before engine would run on its own. Even then at very low revs. Warm up and it will idle at ~1.5k to 2k. What can possibly be the problem?

Anyone having the same experience as me? Engine gets hot easily travelling from seletar airport to tampines? By the time reach carpark fan on..Riding at 100 to 110 kph.. Due to the hot weather? Or is it bcoz im using hot plugs? Ngk iridium btw.. Coolant flush last month.. Or isit due to engine oil on the low level side? Or mayb i juz return from long riding trip from malacca? It doesnt makes sense if tats the reason coz after clearing carbon on NS highway bike got better fuel milage.. Coz before this fan seldom on... Coolant level check in between high n low.. Any ideas guys? ah pek any comments?

Have you clean ur air filter before and adjust ur idling a bit higher?

Not sure what eo u are using but its good u check ur eo level. There are plenty of recycled eo out there and comes in many so call "race" oil but they get burn out especially on continuos tide. If ur fan is on..its telling u that ur engine is running hotter than norm. What coolant r u using...how many litres was filled when u service ur cooling system..were they premixed and tap water added? What about ur thermostat and coolant pummp..changed b4 or don't have. Nothing to do wif ur plugs. What about ur radiator..old?...coolant water ever had rust color b4?

Hi ah pek, i nid some advice here. When i reverse my bike, i get a loud "tuck" sound like those i get when i reverse my bicycle, usually associated with the pulley nearer the back gear..i wonder whats causing the sound on my bike.

And when i move off from 1st gear, the gear seems to engage and disengage with increasing rpm (maybe 4 times until i reach 5-6k rpm). Until i change to 2nd gear onwards then everything is alright. i wonder if it has anything to do with my gearbox or clutch plate. what do u think?

Nothing to do wif gear box or clutch...it's either ur chain tension too tight or alignment with back wheel is out. If it's a new chain and old front sprocket..oso can get this 'problem. If it's an Old chain...some of the chain link may be kink. Solution is to slack the chain by about an inch at least more and make sure the back wheel markers alignment for chain adjustment are the same.

Thanks for your input, i'll do a check and if need be i'll bring it over to a bikeshop to get it fixed.

Some like ur coolant system is ok but can't say about a jammed thermostat (can take it off u u want..need not replace) or like u said, radiator may be on the old side and coolant pump may be weak due to missing blades of the impeller due to rusting internally from previous owner. Bikes getting old everyday..have a change of EO type to higher grade.

Hello everyone, new owner of a 16-year-old Super 4 PB1 here.

A few things that have to be done and I would like some expert opinions as I have very limited experience with Super 4s.

1. The front forks are quite soft. No leaks and fork seals are still in place. Do I have to service it and add fork oil/pressure? And roughly the cost of doing it?

2. Cone bearing seems to be a bit flimsy. Whenever I go over a hump, got like tik-tik sound and I can feel the handlebar slightly shifting side to side. Can I service it or does it need replacement? And the costs too.

3. The rear suspensions are cheap local ones (I think) and the left side is a little bit slanted. Should I be worried about this or should I get it replaced?

Alright that's about it. I would really appreciate all and any advises from anyone.

Thanks a bunch! :)

Goin long distance, well not that long, SG to KL and back for MotoGP, riding a Ver S. Engine is fine so far, never given me problems before, relatively smooth, EO is another 3500-4000km worthy, new plugs, new tyres, sprockets and chain. I'm not so sure about the engine internals, so far no problems, electricals..so far also no problem, the bike never died half way before. Its a little hard to idle until i get the engine hot then it idles without problem

How do I make sure **** doesn't happen?

It was idling a bit higher previously (~ 2.7k) but problem was there. Now lowered it a bit... So don't think it is the idling speed.

Having problem finding the air filter tho. Can I find it on my own or do I have to get a mechanic to check? Bought the bike about 2 months ago.

On ur lower left..three size 8 bolt holding a round cover (third screw can't be seen..has to remove the long elongated plastic cover (hold by one philip screw) that is blocking it). Remove the cover and pull out the air filter..if its all black and oil clogged..time to replace or wash if its a K&N. Btw..u can ride with air filter for awhile and see how things works for u.

Battery is new, everything else done, no leakage nothing, I believe runaway from airbox hole is normal rite, as in water and grime? recently replaced most if of my coolant pipes. EO is relatively new. I just worry about the clutch cable, rectifier and coil cuz while so far, they haven't given me probs but it doesn't mean they wont.

Bout the airbox not really sure.. But i guess its normal give it a clean thou.. Clutch cable cheap to replace.. Mayb u can ask apek to measure or ur mechanic to assure u on the rectifier and coil.. btw juz an advise if is this ur first time goin far? Juz be extra careful bro coz every motor gp there is sure some singapore bikers goin home without their bikes.. A favourite time of the year for vechicle theft.. Few friends hav experience it..
