Hi guys, thinking of changing my rectifier soon and also to try on the lithium batteries but just need to check if any of you guys/gals ever had any problems with your rectifier/voltage regulator?? Heard that some rectifier can fail even after only using it for a few months.

Anyone ever tried products from electrosports???

Need some feedback urgent,

thanks

How much and where did you go to get the rectifier change?

I've check with most shops giving a price range bout $220~$280 plus installation. but K.S. motor quote me $190 just for the rectifier itself.

Yes, I'm riding a K9 and had encountered faulty rectifier twice. It was a faulty batch (K8~L10) which was replaced with a Improved version FOC by Guan Hoe. However it was only until the 2nd time then they acknowledge the problem. So far no problem with the improved version.

By the way, why do you intend to change to a Lithium battery? Beside the minor weight saving (considering our bike is already over 200kg), I don't see any big advantages over the normal battery. The price of a lithium can buy 2 or 3 normal battery which could easily means manys 4 to 6 years of usage. FYI, my stock battery still serving me well for the past 2 years.

$190 is a good price. I have paid $220 for it. However I urge you not to pay for it and seek Guan Hoe advise first.

My current batt is also almost past 2 yrs as well, but looks like it starts to give me some symptoms. Anyway been reading a lot and it seems that the lithium batt has it advantages besides the obvious weight, it will give a constant voltage better cranking voltage everytime and last 2 or 3 times longer than the ave batt, plus its rechargeable. Unlike normal batteries, they are not really meant to be re-charge (they can be recharge but they wont hold it for long). Anyway the lithum batt is not as expensive as it sounds, it actually costing me lesser than 2 OEM batts.........so comparing the lifespan of these 2, they are bout the same but cost is lesser.

Thanks, but was thinking of changing to the electrosports rectifier and also to get the relocation bracket as well, might wanna change the position to somewhere less hot, currently ours are position under the lingakge near the mid-pipe.

There is a thread in Hayabusa.org showing a guy whom relocated his rectifier to the tail and in the caught fire and burnt the tail. Reason being Gen2 rectifier runs hotter than Gen1. You might want to reconsider it.

Thanks bro for the heads up.......will reconsider on doing the relocation project. Any info if he is using the OEM rectifier or an aftermarket one?

Is it plug and play or any requirements to cut some wires?

There are aftermarket full system that are legal.
