in my case is yes......I feel that pilot rd 2 has better wet grip, it is becos of my bike set-up and my style of riding......it might differ for other bike setup.....

In any case, i dont really rely on what other ppl say, as it might be good for them but not for me, or something that is good for me but not be good for them..... but i will use thier point of view for considerations.

Sometimes you just need to try it out and find out if it suits with your riding style and bike set-up.

I stick with the words, "make the bike to suit you and not you to suit the bike".

A good eg is in motogp, stoner won the championship on a ducati but rossi cant, y? cos the bike for the past few yrs was develop around stoner, it was suited for him not for rossi. Maybe next season after a few changes and recommendations by rossi could we see some improvements to the ducati factory.

fair enough.. i just never thought that a touring tyre will have better grip than a sports tyre no matter how u setup or ride.. new info everyday i guess.

FIrstly, from the look at both tyres threads and the categories that they are in.

Pilot road 2 a dual compound sport touring tyre and look carefully at tyre treads. Its longer, wider and deeper, comapred to M5.:argue:

M5 is a supersport tyre.:thumb:

Logically speaking while riding PR2 will repel more water in the wet road.

In this case i agree with him.I maybe wrong,as i am a NOOB:).There are always plenty of room for discussion.

Of course technology never ends.If not that means the tyre companies are not earning $$$,so there goes their R&D department.

It's up to individual which tyre they or whoever thinks it suits them the best.

Lots of factors are involved. But one thing for sure i can confirm, you cant have the best out of two worlds at the same time.

Check with you guys, what is the mileage you change your spark plug? My Gen 2 still on stock iridium plug at 42k km liao. Power wise still feel good. I was hoping to change after 60k km. I hope to get some real life mileage to gauge.

stock are iridum plugs??? i did not know bout that since i bought a 2nd hand bike.....but from my previous bikes I nvr used iridium plugs more than 30k km, cos by that time I would have passed the 1 yr mark. And for my current bike I only did 7k km for the whole yr

Ya, stock gen2 using iridium plug. Ya, first time changing plug too. All my previous bikes never last till the need to change the plug. I hope the plug can last till 100k km though, lol.

Do not try to be heroes. GenII spark plugs are to be changed every 12,000Km. Any other suggestion they may tell you is just rubbish. Yes, the stock plugs are iridium.

Please read your manual for a change (Page 6-4).

Yup, read the manual. The recommendation is crap, in my opinion. Iridium is well-known to last around 3 times longer than normal plug. Of course with a more efficient sparking. That is their selling point. I'm still using it at 42k km with no drop in performance and fuel consumption. That is already like 3 time more than the recommendation.

That why asking around whom had change it around this mileage or more for some guideline. If not, it will be 60k km or or drop in performance, whichever come first. Don't worry, my bike, my responsibility.

FYI, standard car can use iridium plug up to 100k km. I know Kah Motor stated it Honda car iridium plug to be change at 100k km.

Correct, therefore next time please specify that, Manual recommends every 12,000km spark plugs are to be changed and that, keeping them for so long on your bike is entirely your own decision.

Cheers

No problem. I just want to hear opinion, better still riders with actual experience to act accordingly. Cause I find it quite weird for Suzuki to spec the iridium plug change interval at 12k km. Beside I just peek into my 08 CBR1000 manual and it stated 51k km. Thats a big difference. But it a Honda, not Suzuki. Some might argue different cc etc....

Anyway the initial problem with worn out plug is power loss or hard to start. Nothing major if rectify fast. Going to keep a set of plug at home to change it myself when the time comes. And I will share with you guys how long the plug can run till. But additional info, my riding style is uncle riding. I seldom whack my bike, maybe once or twice a month to condition the bike. So it might not wear out the plug as much a rider who ride the sh*t out of it everytime.

Cheers!

going the dinner on this sat ????

on my gen 1, i had used Denso IU27, NGK CR9EIX & NGK CR9EIA

changed them at 10 000km, 12 000km & 18 000km respectively.

only difference i find is that the NGK CR9EIA yield better FC and easily to cold-start.
