while i am not eligible to vote as i am not singaporean, i do think that singapore politics will benefit from having credible opposition groups. unfortunately, there really isn't enough of these groups in the past elections. there are some and that is great...but the majority of those who oppose seem to be opposing for the sake of opposing, rather than opposing because they have a vision that can make things markedly better.

i don't think it makes sense to vote for an opposition party just because they exist. at the end of the day, you gotta weigh in what they have to offer versus the incumbent.

i guess the bigger question is: do we see any opposition party that is offering something better, or markedly different, from the incumbent?

i haven't seen any really...have you?

Do we??? you are not even a singaporean.

I have weigh the outcomes and its on the opposition side, I was born here and stayed here for 27yrs, so were my parents and so were my grandmothers, Noting of today has a single benefit to me, i cant buy a house, i have a degree from aus and i dont have a job even after working as a manager in australia for 6months not even a entry paying job that pays $1.8k.

they build 2 I.Rs here which has totally no benefit for me nor my family or friends, No one works there.

If the opposition is always oppressed, how do we know what they can or cannot offer when a chance is not given to them.

The media is on the garment side, no free press. No Human rights!! for goodness sake we still hang people. Our cpf is being kept and not

given to use when we retire, no welfare no NOTING. SO WHAT HAS THEY GIVEN ME? National service they have given me instead to tell

me to defend this island where a prostitute or factory worker from china is given citizen ship like membership for a dvd shop.

Freedom is important. just look at the fear we have. Everyone is a property not a single entity.

There is no law against stating for whom you will vote for. What's with this fear mongering?

I have stated openly to my friends and all those who know me that I have and will vote for the Opposition. I am totally anti-PAP and even my boss knows it.

If you want to get really pedantic...

My vote had been ANTI PAP rather than PRO OPPOSITION. I hate the current PAP system. I hate the ARROGANCE that the veteran PAP MPs have shown. I hate the way how young, elite PAP MPs are brought into Parliament by letting them hang onto the coat-tails of veteran PAP MPs. Most of all, I HATE LKY and his warped thinking, that Singaporeans owe PAP their votes because "we were a fishing village and PAP brought Singapore to first world" blah blah blah.

Hating LKY is not against the law. So I will say it out loud - I HATE LKY.

But now, having seen how the Opposition is doing what it can, I am voting for the Opposition because I want to support the Opposition. So many people say the quality of the Opposition sucks. My question is HOW DO YOU KNOW THEY REALLY SUCK? Have you given them a chance to prove themselves?

(My follow-up question is DO YOU THINK OUR PAP MPs are very good? Well you have to judge your own MPs.)

Well that's my rant. Feel free to remove if SBF thinks this is seditious.

BTW I used to work in a GLC and I was still voting for the Opposition. All those stupid fears about losing jobs, being passed over for promotion etc are not true.

My job is also high security (need to submit to ISD for security clearance that kind) and no, I'm still here.

this poll will no where reflect what's the actual coming elections. some places wont even get to vote. to be more specific, fair and correct, you should actually list down the other opposition parties.

well, we can complain till the cows comes home, is anything going to change? :( my area should be a walkover.

anyway, what the opposition should do is propose what they can really do, not just pin point what are the current flaws.

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

obviously it will not reflect anything, but it shows something. Only one vote for PAP so far... If you do observe or read alternative news, you should know what they are proposing for... Im not going to tell you what, you go do your research.

and if the cows come home, its defiantly something different :>

vote is not a secret. they can easily find out YOU vote for who.

those who voted b4 will know. your ic number is noted down to the ballot paper which has a serial number.

that means they can trace this pc of paper using it's serial.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

I do think voting for a party, any party, should revolve around the belief that what the party stands for is the right thing for the country.
