I don't believe there has been a guide to run in tyres on these forums.

Basically go at reduced speed for a certain no. of KMs until the tyre is 'seasoned' by the heat and give you maximum traction. You can judge traction by the feel of the vehicle.

Note that new tyres can feel very "touchy" (ie, handlebar very light) for a while and as they wear in, will give you normal controllability.

The "fresh tyre" feeling can be fun but don't overdo it. Its a reminder that the tyre is still slippery and new so do not push it.

Usually I will practise increment cornering but make sure tire is warmed up. Heat will helps to "melt" the wax making it easier to be removed. Usually wax will be removed once the portion went through the tarmac. Then just slowly increase your cornering angle till you feel the grip is back to normal. Some say the wax will automatically be removed by the heat after some time. I personally prefered to rub the tire against the road to make sure.

It could be, or maybe to perform like dat....better check when the tire was manufactured. All tires will have some sort of this on the tire....refer to their website for this.

"Bridgestone BT90 is another good tyre for 400cc racers but limited to practice/ training purposes only as you cannot go too aggressive on them. These tyres have good grip and contour but wear off very fast especially if you start powersliding them. Cheap toO!"

not sure if this is applicable, but have seen video of a guy parking his bike front wheel against a carpark pillar, then just engage gear 1 and throttle. kinda like a burn out.

Why don't you just use your front brake and actually do a burn out.

A several second burn out with tilt to either side ought to suitably wear off the wax. Just remember to keep your weight on the front of the bike!

Also, don't go on for too long or you'll have to change your tires again.

For me, i did the same way as kinwei by doing increment cornering slowly on SG road. Of cos with warm up tyres..

And the best way to get rid of those chicken strips, is to head over to PG...
