I had an accident at 100km/hr before in the expressway. An utterly painful experience for the next 10 days

Now ride above that speed will become uneasy.

 

Any1 with similar case? How to manage it?

i had same experience as you... crashed at that speed too

i was so badly frightened (was nearly run over by a car that couldnt stop) i wanted to give up riding... then my friend was very smart

the very next day, he called me up (i was on mc) and said, "hey lets meet up for coffee..."

he brought with him a catalog of new bikes from japan and let me look through it, and i was like at the bikes

then he said, "you crashed ur helmet right? i can get you a really gd deal on arai helmet"

so we went to buy helmet and that was how i decided to continue riding.

 

anyway, for a long time afterwards, you will feel scared la. maybe you can try wearing full gear (fullface helmet, armour jacket, armour pants, gloves, boots) when riding, then you will think "at least if i fall down i will just tear my gear", then slowly slowly you will get the feeling back. but you will definitely be more cautious too...

Hey yo! man i got a similar experience as u bro! jus 4 days after buying my Gilera ST200 I while riding on CTE at overtaking lane i didnt bother the roadworks sign, as i was going down the slope faster and fast the car in front of my suddenly deceased speed a lot i cant manage in time i hit the car and flewwww!!!! >

 

After that i had the same feeling as u I got phobia of riding at that speed and my hands will shake till nw at times when i ride at that speed >.

Good one.. Yes, the scars will always remains.. After so many years after my accident, every time I approach the same area and place, memories of the accident flashed back and I still feels abit frighten but I still have to ride through except be more cautious. Take care man

Haha, I tried to be caution after first accident. Then family car bang me from behind I think stay positive while riding is the best. When time to move faster, throttle up. When time to slow down, keep a safe distance

 

That's my riding tactics after 2 accidents. No pain no gain haha

i tot ts referring to the show..

 

i think importantly gotta know WHY and HOW did u pengz.

 

if u cannot understand WHY and HOW, it's only a matter of time b4 it happens again, w/o u knowing.

 

There are things we can control, and things we cant. control those things that we can as best as we can, and that shd be a lil more re-assuring.

 

things we CANNOT control:

1) people "suddenly" bang u!

2) "suddenly" rain

 

things we can control:

1) dun save on brakes.

2) dun save on tires.

3) wear some, if not alot of, protective gear (Mesh jacket w armor, gloves, ff helmet, thick jeans, covered shoes etc)

4) throttle control (whack and relac as per needed)

 

with respect to the above 2 CANNOT Control:

5) Know what is happening around us most times, if not all times. learn how here.

6)a) u control rain, but u can control whether or not to ride when raining.

b) even if u have to ride through the rain, u can do so in a relatively safer manner.

 

finally, time will help u overcome the phobia!

Hmmmmmmmm well i have numerous throphies from the tarmac all around my body hahaha... i can say that yes its true there will be phobia. You ask me to compare my now and my pass riding style, i shall say im DAMN HUM CHEE how. but well thats where lessons is learn and where you become a better and more mature and responsible rider. but like wat jackohjack says some accidents are uncontrollable but well mabbe preventable.

 

ever rider have its story. Its whether you wanna continue writing it or wat. Phobia is inevitable frankly. but when you rider to the area of your accident you will remember oh there is this this this there that cause my accident. So far all my accidents are self inflicked so i learn my lessons.

 

Hope you can counter your phobia and keep on riding.

what were you wearing at that time?

 

wearing quality gloves, mesh/textile jackets, fullface helmet and boots will offer a relatively decent amount of protection.

 

so sad about local rider's perception towards gearing up.

of course a red light after every 30 seconds of riding does not help.

 

on tip to overcome this kind of phobia, is to try finding again the shiokness of riding.

As the accident occured at CTE, the ambulance was sending me to one of the hospital near central but due to the afternoon jam along amk to braddell, i was detoured to the hospital at the east.

 

After admission, Xray, the white angels bandaged me up which is fine.

Next came the surgery doc want see my wounds, removed bandage, Ouch!

Then the Optopedics came, removed bandage, Ouch! Ouch!

After a while came the brain doc, removed bandage, Ouch! Ouch! Ouch!

Finally Xray report show my neck area got spine misalignment so wear neckguard plus ct scan on neck cum bedridden

This procedure continue for 2 days and on the third day CT scan result shown my neck is normal~ Stay in hospital for the next 8 days

 

One more thing to add, a few days after i check out of this hospital when my abrasions no longer painful, my back start to hurt. Go back hospital Xray,then found out thoracic spine fracture....wtf

Hahaha same same... But im more lucky than you. I dun suffer broken bones. But suffer the wound rubbing from the white angel. I feel like punching her the whole process. But good thing they employ a pretty nurse Hahahaha...

 

Subsequent time, if only abrasion i dare not go hospital liaoz. Straight use solution. My brother pour it on the wound and i really punch him Hahahaha...

back to topic, phobia stay 4 a while but time will heal..

try ride thru e path again @ slower speed when it less crowded...after a few session u will feel beta n confident..
