Yup and lesson learned. In the past i use to blame it on everything else instead of myself. But now.... i knw that its me controlling the bike. So no point shifting the blame to anything else. Unless is really station there and kana bang la hahaha.

i met at accident also.. =( maybe lady cannot ride?!?! sad things is i follow all the rules and the speed limit.. and wat i got i kanna buang by a MPV while entering expressway at the band of Lentor Ave.. T.T well.. things tat i cannot contorl.. who ask him wan to cut my lane just like tat?!?!?! 1 month after i got my license and tio buang.. damn suey.. after tat i got phobia of speed (kanna buang tat time my speed less tan 50km/hr only!!!).. Whenever car pass me (speed faster den me) i got so scare.. it haunt me for few months.. now i am ok with speed.. BUT~ whenever the car drive near me, i got so scare!! maybe becoz i caught a glimps when de MPV drive near me and cut my lane.. tat why scare of distance.. but i slowly overcome it..

 

 

like what u all had said... detour... my bf keep detour and avoid the road.. but it hit me even harder when my fren die at the exiting of Lentor Road not long ago.. it do take time to heal...

 

 

 

and guess what?? accident with a scar that look like "broken butterfly" behind my back not tat bad also.. =D

=( that do sound scary and suay to me. its really not easy to forget all this i think. Especially when someone so dear just pass away like that.

the fear tat u cannot overcome becomes a phobia.

 

to eliminate the phobia, u cannot keep running away.

 

scared of injuries and scars and dun wanna gear up while riding, pls dun ever think of riding n risk ur life.

 

i got multiple scars n previous injuries, been in pain n long recovery time, but i am still riding.

 

Ride safe and gear up, dun be a rd hazard, wats there to worry about.

 

this kinda thing is heng suay also, nobody forcing anyone to ride anyway,

u decide ur own fate.

Fell down in my 1st week of riding a decade ago. Hurts like hell and worst thing is I can't feedback to my mom for fear of her worrying. My bike lessons were taken with her disapproval and thus I do not wish to worry her additionally. The cause of my accident? "road idiot (路痴)+ not familiar with the bike". Used a right turn speed for a U turn.

If after a serious fall, someone wants to quit. Let him/her quit. It's her life decision.

 

I'm not going to be the one who tells him/her "Don't quit! Don't give up!" and then attend his/her funeral a few weeks/months/years later.

My friend died in March when he got hit by a drunk driver when he was cycling just outside NP, on the way back.

 

It didn't stop me from the love of riding... you just have to move on. Your friend would've wanted you to continue! ( That is, if your friend has a passion for riding. )

That is very true bro. Sometimes I feel that I'm doing the wrong thing by encouraging my friend/colleague to take up biking. But at the same time I want them to experience the joy in riding.

to keep urself safe really need alertness, knowing the surrounding. So you can make immediate decision which is very important to prevent u to fall or even injury.

 

Defensive Riding Course at Driving Center is a good lesson. i learn afew things from it. worth going.

 

Ride safe and soon the phobia will be lesser and lesser liao.

I had an accident back then, my bike skidded and i could not get up myself, laid on the road till ambulance arrived and brought me hospital. For the next days at home resting, thinking whether to stop riding or not. But as time went by, my interest in my riding again grew stronger and eventually went back to riding! so i guess its just a matter of time before u start riding again. Phobia wise, when I corner esp during wet weather, i tend to be more careful and slow down quite abit so i guess its good in a way, prevents the same thing from happening..

Never corner on wet weather.... But some months back got dis guy ride drz old model. Powerslide in front of me like wanna show off like that. But very beautiful he slide... Hahaha

I skidded once during rainy days. Now I reduce my speed by 20-30% and double the following distance during wet days.
