try dainese mesh jacket, i'm using one and find it fitting cooling also

online reviews mentioned that dainese mesh jackets are very cooling.

Here is the latest review on webike world

http://www.webbikeworld.com/r4/dainese-shotgun-jacket/

as dainese is abit pricey, i chose to use the RS taichi mesh which is better suited to my budget.

Take note, the std RS taichi jacket does not include a proper back protector, I had to buy an add on, total is about $170-200. I can't remember the price, as it was more than a year ago.

currently looking at another jacket purchase if my budget allows, dainese and the perforated leather jacket are in my sights.

February 2011 - March 2012 = Phantom TA 200

March 2012 - August 2013 = Suzuki Impulse 400

In my opinion, some perforated leather jackets actually can be more ventilated than mesh textile jackets. Tried out several brands of perforated leather and mesh jackets, and the best I ever had is the Vanson Breeze perforated jacket. It is made from competition weight leather with very well cut perforations, and it is more cooling than than all the mesh jackets I've tried.

If anyone is interested, I have one for sale :p

What size is your leather perforated jacket? I am looking for a Large or XL. Does anyone know who sells perforated leather for cruisers? Motoworld has one for track use, and Harley are out of my budget.

The one I have is S size, fits chest size 36-38 inches. Hmmm, I think its too small for you. It was too small for me, so I went to buy a M size one...

I think for perforated leather jacket had to buy from overseas...locally very hard to find. Got all my jackets from overseas

Just bought Dainese Air 2 Tex. Extremely airy. Bought an additional back protector and total is $600++ (after discount).

I used to own a basic RS Taichi mesh jacket. As someone mentioned, it doesn't come with adequate back protection. So you need to buy additional back protector. Otherwise, it's good for basic protection.

Some protection is better than none at all. So buy what you can at your budget.

thats cool . . . i am using komine mesh as well, i do understand that mesh will melt to our road rash wound to a extend. the perforated leather do look interesting!

I had wanted to buy Motoport for this reason. Motoport uses Kevlar and can withstand high heat such as that during extended sliding on road.

However, my partner discouraged me. He had a Motoport racing suit made and he was really underwhelmed by the quality of Motoport's Tri-Armor. On the basis of the armour alone, he recommended me to try Dainese.

I have seen the Tri-Armor and it does feel a bit filmsy, especially compared to Dainese. Cost-wise Dainese works out to be slightly cheaper. I really can't evaluate the two types of armour in terms of effectiveness, but my partner did survive a crash while wearing his Dainese so at least Dainese is proven.

As for the danger of mesh melting, my partner's jacket did not melt. In fact it survived without a scratch (but had to be cut open by the ambulance staff). His argument is prolonged sliding only happens at the race-track. He did slide on the road but it wasn't long enough to melt the mesh.

Anyway, I hope we will never need to test his theory out for ourselves. My view is some protection is better than none. Get the best you can afford, and slowly build up your protective wear from there. I still intend to get Motoport overpants because I can't find any here!

I have been using RJays Octane coming to near 4years already. The 3M reflective material still glows and reflect at night. Its woven mesh material have not seen any wear and tear yet except for the waist velco which doesn't seems to stick as tight as before.

It comes with a removable liner but will be deem useless given its a rainy day condition.

Its very nice, comfortable and reasonably priced. Bought at Regina for 170 if I am not wrong. Comes with a few colours...

The zip still works fine and there are loads of pockets for handphone, keypouch, passport, wallet.

The paddings still remains its density after so long. Not a bad choice if u wanna get a mesh jacket. Those from komine also not bad....

Question for those who wear a jacket with a proper mesh protector (i.e. the hard type, not the foam type like in the Rjays Octane):

After reaching your destination, what do you do with the jacket? I find it too bulky to keep even though mine is the foam type. So I removed the foam back protector.

That jacket looks great! But I don't see any kind of armour protection on it. The leather will be good for preventing abrasions, but is there any impact protection as well?

My own experience: bought a Komine jacket from Motoworld a few years back, didn't regret it in the slightest. Finally retired it a couple of months ago after it saved my skin on a few occasions  I looked around for other brands, but couldn't find anything that combined quality and protection for that price - bought myself another Komine, and I'm quite happy with it (though it hasn't been 'tested' yet, thankfully).

I also have a full riding suit from Motoport (jacket + overpants in Air Mesh Kevlar), which cost a bomb o_O I used to wear it to work, but can't any more because it's really bulky and I don't have a place to store it at my new job. So now it's reserved for touring duties. The fit is great and so is the quality of the workmanship. The tri-armour in the old jackets is quite lame, but the new quad armour inspires a bit more confidence. Again, it hasn't been 'tested', so I can't make any bold claims to its effectiveness. But the air mesh is quite comfortable for expressway riding, maybe not so much in stop-start traffic. It certainly feels like it'll last for ever.

That's my $0.02, hope it helps.

I went to lab and bought their cheapest armored jacket for ard 75$(can't give u exact price cause I bought it along with other stuffs) u must nego with them for cheaper price. its a duhan-yamaha riding jacket with foam protectors( back, shoulders n elbows). there is a thin cushion lining which u can remove if you don't want it to be bulky. inner net lining.. jacket material wise is quite thick, doubt it is mesh.

I wore it a few times already (short distances) not too bad IMO cause I was on a tight budget. if u guys are interested I can take a pic to show u all.

I've got this RS Taichi mesh jacket in black from Motoworld http://motoworld.com.sg/detail.php?pid=1186. It was something like $150 I think. Photo below for lazy types that will not click the link:

http://motoworld.com.sg/products/1186/sub_large_9139.jpg

Vents like crazy, which it should since it's almost entirely mesh. Comes with decent elbow and shoulder armour. Bought an additional back protector to replace the foam protector in the back ($50 I think).

I also have a textile Alpinestars jacket that has been relegated to touring (when I get around to doing it) because it doesn't vent anywhere near as well as my RS Taichi one.

hi bros, previously i was also on the hunt for riding jackets ... after browsing through many sites and recommendation..

i think the 2 better ventilated textile jackets with CE armoured protectors are cortech accelerator 2, and revit sirocco..

I've personally gotten a revit sirocco and the air vents are great.. it's super comfy even on a hot day sun.. hope this helps..

just do a google on these two brands should gives u the overview.. :)

Yours is just a normal mesh jacket, not those leather type, right?

For those normal zippers, you can basically go to any of those tailor/ seamstress shops to replace the whole zipper.

Same with any other clothing article.
