There was this once a m113 was following a bikee. The bikee buang cause the terrain was rough and it was very dark. The m113 driver didn't see the fallen biker. Luckily the bikee when falling he threw the bike and jumped into the bushes. The tank ran over the bike.

When we ride, there is no right of way. Always be defensive while riding. That is one of the reasons why I like going out with you guys. Safety is never compromised. :thumb:

Won't blame the APC driver in this case as visibility out of armoured vehicles is naturally, bad. and in a real op it might not be tactically prudent for the armour convoy to stop at all.

No such excuse for the culprit in Shunpo's accident, though, as sedan cars are literally, greenhouses.

Safety wise, I am also impressed by the dawn patrol safety record despite the very challenging road courses demanding a variety of tactics for each type of road and traffic situation.

Night time is a bit more challenging because there are "super speeders" (lorries included) out to ruin peoples' day.

It's an "open" outing so far and everyone is more or less encouraged to chip in and lead the convoy in areas they are most comfortable with (or just drive straight, the route is straight anyway lol).

This is in contrast to "some of" the more serious convoys I've been in where someone will always say "dress like this", "ride like this", "don't do that" and when the convoy starts, everything goes into shambles because rigid leadership never works past the start line. Traffic is dynamic, we have to adapt.

So far the platoon leaders we have are fantastic, and sometimes there are even command teams cooperating to navigate the route, such as Boon Kiat (Magna) and Eddy (CB750) last week, which was impressive.

@gutripper even did lead the first Spyder night patrol quite well part of the way, even without mirrors :D

The only rule here is to be steady and constant in riding style, unless you hold the sweeper position. Once someone gives in to the temptation to speed, kiss safety goodbye.

Lol that is your third brake light lol. Connected to your foot instead of a light!

I was riding around with a frozen shoulder (google it) for the past month or so. No doctor or sports physician really knew what it was. I think it was a torn ligament somewhere. The pain was quite frankly, excruciating and the only thing that helped was Thai massage. But that's censored cos it's in Geylang :p

This morning when doing some stuff on my bike I heard a loud 'snap' and the pain stopped. Wtf, so it was dislocated? No wonder time with the ladies helped and doctors were useless. Wrong diagnosis lol.

Therefore I declare Honda motorcycles have medicinal value. The pain does lessen considerably while riding. Need Osim chair for what, this one can move at 100kph. Faster :D

Part of the reason for my chopping down the front suspension and risers was that the "cruiser" posture was causing backache. Copying the riding posture of the Ducati Monster solves all of that :D

In other news,

I had a pleasant surprise today at work, someone hand-delivered my Victorian blouse :3

Pls check my facebook for other updates :D

Question: I realised that for bigger cc cruiser bikes such as the Shadow, it is much more stable as claimed by their riders.

However, for the lighter TA200 it is not so. I can feel almost every bump and have some difficulty doing turns. This is especially so for the route from Jalan Kayu to Yishun Ave 1 through Seletar Airport area.

Is there any way i can improve on this as i plan to extend the COE of my bike later this year.

Thanks

Solution: It's not just the bike, it's also about the rider (and the tuner :)

I solved this problem already by customising the suspension geometry and weight distribution. As far as I'm concerned my "monsterised" riding posture and lowered front suspension solves all the usual complaints with Phantom's stability and handling.

"Skid prone" my ass. More like natural counter-steer and knee down all the way scraping side boxes :D

Your stock handlebars and suspension are just too high leading to a "chopper" type weight distribution and steering rake. There's not enough weight on the front tyre, giving a very vague turn-in response and bumpy front suspension. Suspensions need weight on them to work properly.

The solution is erm, free. (handlebars not included :D) The latest Spyder dawn patrol videos have absolutely no "bounciness" to the front unlike before suspension tuning.

discovered this make in germany fully synthetic EO schnell maximax II at AMK NTUC which cost $13.70. it SAE 5W60. you might be interested.

60 weight! This will bog down my little engine too much. Against common practise I am now using 10W40 for maximum horsepower (minimum pumping drag). I can also manufacture my own 10W35 or 10W45 custom blend if I want superior response or thicker oil for high temp runs as necessary.

At ah chong there now haha! Around 2 weeks time before it gets functional. Cases with TAXIs are so hard .. but well, rather than let them win one side down, might as well fight with them =X

If you guys ever stopped at ah chong, just send the regards to my bumblebee there ~ Though it's going to become repsol after the 2 weeks =X

No bike is really so inconvinient

Because when you tell the ladies what you ride, SP sounds like a suntan lotion. (lol j/k)

But when you tell them you ride a REPSOL

Whoa.....!

I buy Phantom cos housewives love Phantoms cos they're "Harleys" :D ... except mine has RXZ nose and Monster handlebars = Sportster :p

@sghondarebel 's bike is even better just walk into anywhere with leathers and chrome armour on and people will definitely ask the standard "what bike u ride" question.

Reply in Texan accent "I don't know, but it comes from 1978"

So total how much damage incur on the bike?

don't know lol. what ah chong told me is the excess for bike claims will be $500. (say if win, I take back the $500, if lose, just lose $500)

The cost of fairings and paintjob would more or less be the same as well. Hais, so troublesome.

Since it's SP mah~ So must have the ah beng paintwork xD

Don't want customize so much la, as I don't want bother ah chong too much lol~ Simple simple, just repsol can liao.

@Shunpo

Lol, 2 weeks "holiday" for bike plus extreme makeover spa xD

If I send my regards to your autobot the regards will end up like this:

Saw @2wheels R1 on covert ops outside my office lol.

Reactivate Gandalf the White?

lol~ Then it'll really be "the birds and the bees!" xD

Gandalf already sold to a new mage.

Hmm, makes me think .. sometimes it's still good to have 2 bikes on hand ~_~

Anyway, good thing is that it's with ah chong. Can totally have a peace of mind!

This saturday's patrol will be SO epic man! Can't wait for the videos!!

Adventure.

Care to advise how you mod the front Suspension.....i am keen to "stiffen" the front suspension but was told unlike the rear which can be adjusted, there is non for the front and i find it very "bouncy"
