hmm, probably the fjr. cause the hayabusa is pretty damn big, same as the stx.

February 2011 - March 2012 = Phantom TA 200

March 2012 - August 2013 = Suzuki Impulse 400

Present = BMW (Bus, MRT, Walk)

Bro, the Hayabusa is a racer, not tourer (sports) like FJR or ST. ZX14 will be a better compraison. Racing bikes and tourers are different in handling and performance. You need to know what you want.

FJR & ST specs have been left unchanged for few years leoz. I was looking at a new STX13 @$29000 OTR when I realised Honda has stopped producing them in 2008/09. As for FJR, I didn't like its looks (I want it bigger cos I am 1.85m)...both are great bikes though. In the end, I settled for the 2010 kawa Concours 14. Was attracted to it by the new techs such as VVT, Traction control, etc. FYI, its abt $33000 OTR but currently no stock till end of the year. My only concern is getting the parts.

My 2 cents worth. Good luck for your search!

Busa is abit more to the blackbird side which is sports tourer. not entirely sports :)

So in terms of easy to find parts and accessories, which one da best?

I think both FJR & STX quite safe to get parts locally. When you have the $$$...everything will be juz 'fine'.....

the 3 bikes mentioned cannot b compared cos the type of ride compared is wrong. u might wanna consider STX, FJR, GTR n BMW K1300GT. Then blackbird, ZZR1400, hayabusa. n for all these bikes, less kawasaki, the agents r there to support so parts shd b fine.

Before i sold my concours, i went on a phuket trip with my hayabusa friend. Even though he had completed the 3000km trip on his busa, he did not have a jolly good time on his bike. On the other hand, i loved every sec i had on my concours. But i admire and respect his mental strength and determination. I know it aint easy on him

You see, the busa rider has to carry a big big bag and coupled with two overloaded saddle bags. He had to stop at every 180km-200km for refuel plus short rest from the hunch back style riding position.

As i agreed with the rest of the riders in this thread, you cannot compare busa with sports tourer bike such as gtr, fjr and stx. Because each bikes are purpose built and had their primary role in the bike market. Only the riders determine their secondary role such as using it for track purpose, extensive off road riding etc.

You have to decide what you want to do for your class 2 bike. If you aim to do long distance riding and explore up north. For your comfort and safety, get a tourer bike.

Actually all bikes are built to perform and can go far. We have seen class 2b bikes explored Golden triangle too. Some even did it with pillions! At the end of the day, its the rider that made the difference. Just go with the bike that you love and enjoy the ride

As i am typing this post, my hayabusa friend is probably enjoying my concours now. ^_^

I'm just amaze at how Kawas put so much effort in the Concourse. The rims.... One of a kind... It is indeed a beauty bike...

Yesterday i went out with the new owner of my concours. All this while i cant see my own concours. Yesterday i had a jolly good time looking at it from all angle during motion.

Strangely the concours look very small from the rear. No wonder i have vehicles coming fast towards me and only to chill down when i overtake them later.

They must be shocked to see a huge bike when i gave way to them. First time i get to learn my the leo vince exhaust. Hahah. loud and bassy. thank goodness during my 2 years on it, i was not stopped by tp.

Indeed Kawa had spent a considerable effort on one of their flag ship bike. I had a feeling that there are many more upgrades for concours in the near future. It has really alot of potential. ^_^

If Kawas got a good local support I might consider for my next bike.... Until Then, I would lean more to the FJR.. I wouldn't want to have a machine where by you can't get the spare part easily. No offence.

non taken bro. I totally agree with you then Kawas has poor LOCAL support from the agent. Thats why i import my parts from US. As a matter of fact, its alot cheaper than the local market. Plus i learnt to know more about my bike as i have to follow schematic print to order. eheheheheh
